Rep. Eshoo and Senator Schatz Introduce Resolution to Recognize One Million Covid Deaths
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today CongresswomanAnna G. Eshoo (D-CA) and Senator Brian Schatz (D-HI) introduced a resolution to recognize the one million American lives lost to Covid-19.
"The first known death from Covid-19 in the United States occurred in February 2020. In the months that followed, Covid-19 devastated families and communities across the nation," said Eshoo. "Today we introduce this resolution recognizing and mourning the over one million Americans lost to Covid-19, and we honor the memory of the deceased and offer condolences to their families and loved ones."
The following Representatives are original cosponsors of the resolution: Congressmembers Bobby Rush, Peter Welch, Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, Juan Vargas, Betty McCollum, Cheri Bustos, Dutch Ruppersberger, Mike Thompson, and Doris Matsui. Senator Patty Murray is an original cosponsor of the legislation in the Senate.
