Larson Votes for the INVEST in America Act

July 1, 2021

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted for the INVEST in America Act. The INVEST in America Act is a five-year, $715 billion surface transportation reauthorization and water infrastructure bill that will create good-paying jobs, invest in American workers and communities, and tackle the climate crisis.

"The United States of America's infrastructure has a C- rating from the Society of Civil Engineers. Our infrastructure is behind the times and is in a desperate need of an upgrade. I was proud to vote for the INVEST in America Act today to invest $715 billion into our nation's infrastructure," said Larson. "Not only will this funding rebuild our roads and bridges, but it will also expand high-speed rail in regions like the Northeast, increase access to high-speed and affordable internet, and upgrade our energy grid. At the same time, it will put us on the path forward to tackle climate change, by expanding transportation alternatives, targeting carbon pollution reduction, using greener materials, and investing in resilient infrastructure and pre-disaster mitigation."
