    Police go ‘above and beyond’ for a long-term DMH patient

    After 108 days at the local hospital, during which he was visited by K9 officers and their partners, this long-term patient received a gift from local Perry Police Department officers who also provided a police escort home after he was bid farewell by a line of more than 50 DMH employees.

    Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH) officials are shining a spotlight on members of the local Perry Police Department (PPD for their part in raising the spirits of a young long-term care patient at the local facility.

    “In today’s times, members of law enforcement who have sworn to protect and serve do not always receive the compliments or confidence from us they so rightfully deserve,” said DMH CEO Chris Schmidt.
