I want to thank everyone for joining us today as we review the Food and Drug Administration’s fiscal year 2025 budget request. Our witness is the Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Robert Califf.
Dr. Califf, I want to welcome you to today’s hearing. I look forward to the discussion on not only the budget request, but issues and challenges facing the FDA.
Madam Speaker, I rise today in support of H.R. 5860, a bill that keeps the government open until November 17th.
Thank you, Mr. Chair. I rise today to bring before the House H.R. 4368, the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations bill.
As the Committee continues marking up Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations bills, 18 advocacy groups, led by Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America and Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee, expressed their support for Committee Republicans’ work to protect pro-life provisions in annual funding bills and prevent taxpayer dollars from being used for abortion.
WASHINGTON – Today, the Full Committee met to consider the Fiscal Year 2024 subcommittee allocations. The measure was approved by the Committee with a vote of 33 to 27.
Thank you, Chairwoman Granger, and I want to commend your leadership in moving the fiscal year 2024 appropriations process forward. I also want to recognize the Ranking Member of the Full Committee, Ms. DeLauro, and the Ranking Member of the Agriculture Subcommittee, Mr. Bishop, as I appreciate the conversations he and I have had in regards to the bill.
