U.S. Representative David Scott (GA-13), Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, announced today that nearly $19 million he requested last month to fund local transportation and infrastructure projects in Georgia’s 13^th congressional district has been included in the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure’s upcoming INVEST in America Act.

“The local infrastructure projects selected for inclusion in the INVEST in America Act will modernize and improve our transit options for motorists, bikers and pedestrians in every corner of my district,” said Congressman David Scott. “These investments in robust transportation infrastructure will ease congestion, enhance public safety and improve sustainability for communities across metro Atlanta.”

Projects Congressman David Scott submitted that were selected by the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure to move forward in the INVEST in America Act include:

• East West Connector Corridor Improvement, sponsored by the Cobb County Department of Transportation; $4,500,000
• I-20 at Chapel Hill Road Diverging Diamond, sponsored by Douglas County; $5,000,000
• Clayton County Justice Center Transit Hub – Phase II, sponsored by Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA); $4,960,000
• Global Gateway Connector, sponsored by the City of College Park; $3,542,355
• South Cobb Drive Corridor, sponsored by City of Smyrna; $250,000
• Windy Hill Boulevard, sponsored by the City of Smyrna and Cobb County; $250,000

The Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure will consider the INVEST in America Act on June 9.
