WASHINGTON, D.C., (WPBN/WGTU) -- On Thursday, Republican Congressman John Moolenaar and others questioned the Biden Administration about their policies toward the Community Party of China in a Senate hearing.

He pressed for answers from Assistant Secretary of Defense Ely Ratner.

"In general, do you think it makes sense for Michigan to welcome Taiwan's military for training in our state, and then turn around and invite CCP-affiliated companies to build manufacture manufacturing facilities in our state?" Moolenaar asked.

"Congressman I fully understand the point you're making," Ratner said.

"I agree with it in principle, and I think it's important that as it relates to our unilateral military activities or activities with all of our allies and partners that we should be careful because the PRC is going through several means physical espionage, cyber attacks, to try to undermine and intervene in those relationships in the United States and around the world. And that's something we ought to be vigilant against," Ratner said.

Moolenaar and Ratner both agreed to meet at a later date to discuss Camp Grayling in a private setting.
