Walberg Announces Winners of 2021 Congressional Art Competition

Jackson, MI—Congressman Tim Walberg today announced the winners of the 2021 Congressional Art Competition for Michigan's 7th District.

Karlee Szczesniak is a senior at Clinton High School in Lenawee County, and her artwork will be displayed in the Cannon Tunnel to the U.S. Capitol Building. Her entry, "Water Under the Bridge," is a chalk pastel painting that depicts a green forest with large trees, a waterfall, and a bridge. Karlee's art teacher at Clinton High School is Ashley Kendrek.

Baileigh Clevenger is a junior at Lumen Christi Catholic School in Jackson County, and her artwork will be displayed in Congressman Walberg's Jackson office. Her entry, "The 9am Crowd," is a paper scene of one of Jackson's iconic diners. Baileigh's art teacher at Lumen Christi is Alicia Miller.

"The amount of exceptional submissions we received for this year's contest is a testament to the creativity that resides in our district," said Walberg. "I commend Karlee and Baileigh on their incredible artwork that demonstrate a deep commitment to their craft. It was a pleasure to celebrate these young artists' accomplishments in person, and I look forward to seeing where their talent takes them in the years to come."
