(KNSI) – United States Congressman Tom Emmer recognized a young man whose bravery and quick thinking helped save his mother’s life.
Emmer presented four-year-old Asher Milless from rural Big Lake with a Congressional Record statement in his honor. In November, Asher saved his mom during a medical emergency. When Rachel Milless collapsed in her kitchen, Asher called his grandmother, opened the front door for first responders, and even got her nebulizer working while they were waiting for help.
Emmer said, “Asher demonstrated quick thinking and bravery that would be impressive for any of us. Our community is blessed to have such a courageous kid.”
The Congressional Record is the official account of the proceedings of the United States Congress. Emmer’s statement in Asher’s honor will be a permanent part of the record.
In recognition of his heroism, Asher was also presented with the Life Saving Award by the Sherburne County Sherriff’s Office. He was the youngest person ever to get the award.
