ST. CLOUD — Patti Gartland, the retiring president of the Greater St. Cloud Development Corp., was celebrated Friday, March 17, at the corporation's downtown office.
U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer, R-MN6, presented Gartland with a statement he entered into the Congressional Record on her behalf. He read the statement to Congress on Monday, March 13.
Emmer highlighted some of the work Gartland has done, including the launch of GreaterStCloudJobSpot.com , a local job board that is updated daily. He also pointed out the development of St. Cloud Shines, a digital marketing initiative that "has attracted more than 170 million impressions online," according to his statement.
"The job you've done has been phenomenal and we're so grateful that we had the chance to work with you," Emmer told Gartland.
Gartland will retire on May 31 from the position she has held since 2013.

“These past 10 years with the Greater St. Cloud Development Corp. have been the perfect finale to my professional career,” Gartland said in a February news release announcing her retirement. “But rest assured that my passion and commitment to this community will never retire. I look forward to continuing to be an active and engaged member of this great community.”
Previously, Gartland was the city administrator for Sartell for nearly 12 years, including during the massive emergency response to the historic and tragic paper mill explosion. Before that, she worked for 15 years with the city of St. Cloud, the last 13 as its planning director. Since 2014, Gartland has been a member of the Metropolitan Airports Commission.
