Students from Minnesota's Seventh Congressional District are invited to participate in the annual Congressional App Challenge! Established by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2014, the Congressional App Challenge encourages students to create and submit their own app for the opportunity to receive national recognition. The competition is open to all middle and high school students who meet eligibility requirements.

The Congressional App Challenge accepts computer programs (apps) written in any programming language, such as C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, or “block code,” and for any platform, including desktop/PC, web, tablet, mobile, raspberry Pi, or other devices. Students may register as individuals, either in the district in which they reside or the district in which they attend school, or as teams made up of no more than four students, though at least half of the teammates must be eligible to compete in the district in which they are participating.

The competition will launch in late Spring 2024 and the deadline is November 1st, 2024 at 12:00 pm ET. Winners will be selected by panels of judges drawn from the local community and will be eligible to be featured on display in the U.S. Capitol building and on the Congressional App Challenge website. You can register for entry here.
