Military Academy Nominations

Academy Day

Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) will host Academy Day for students interested in learning more about admission to one of the five Service Academies. The program will take place at Brandon High School on Saturday, April 20th, 2024. The doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Representatives from the United States Military Academy, the United States Naval Academy, the United States Air Force Academy, the United States Coast Guard Academy, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy will be present to answer questions about these prestigious institutions. Congressional staff, midshipmen, cadets, and alumni will also be on hand to provide guidance on obtaining academy appointments. Representatives from all ROTC branches will attend.

Instructions

The honor of attending a service academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.

Any potential candidates must begin an online application to one of the U.S. service academies before a nomination request is submitted. Online applications can be found at the links below:

Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.

Representative Guest may nominate up to ten individuals for each vacant academy slot allotted to our district.
