House approves $2 million boost to Virginia Garcia clinic

Bonamici

After a lengthy process of pursuing funding through the federal Community Projects program, U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici announced July 29 that nine of her projects passed the House and are on track to receive more than $8.5 million under various appropriations bills. Among the projects was an expansion of the Virginia Garcia Medical Center in Newberg, which is set to receive $2 million.

"I look forward to delivering federal resources to these community-driven projects to help the people of Northwest Oregon, support our economic recovery and promote equity," Bonamici said in a news release. "These projects will create tremendous opportunities for our community, and I will continue to do all I can to advocate for the Senate to pass this needed funding."
