WASHINGTON –  Today, Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX) sent a letter to the Pulitzer Prize Board demanding the revocation of the 2018 Pulitzer Prizes for Journalism in National Reporting awarded to the New York Times and the Washington Post.

This letter comes in light of Special Counsel Durham's recent report debunking the claims of "Russian connections" to the Trump campaign that these once credible news institutions reported.

Rep. Gooden also called for a five-year nomination ban for both publications to uphold Pulitzer's commitment to accurate reporting and accountability.

In a statement, Rep. Gooden said, "This is about truth and accountability in journalism. When media institutions propagate unfounded accusations designed to alter the outcome of American elections, they must face consequences. Whatever shred of integrity the Pulitzer Board purports to maintain must be brought to bear against these left-wing media lackeys."
