Congressman McCaul: The PPP helped retain more than 220,000 jobs in TX-10

July 9, 2020

Austin, TX – Tuesday, July 7 2020, the U.S. Treasury Department released a preliminary report on the Paycheck Protection Program, which was established by the CARES Act. The program creates a life-line for small businesses that have experienced financial hardship during COVID-19. In response to the report, Congressman Michael McCaul (TX-10) gave the following remarks:

"The Paycheck Protection Program helped retain more than 220,000 jobs in the 10th Congressional District of Texas. Understanding what this program would mean for Texans back at home, I was a strong supporter of the PPP in Congress and again voted to replenish its funds so more small businesses could stay afloat amid the pandemic. I will continue to advocate on behalf of the constituents of the 10th District as Congress looks for new ways to help Americans during this time."

Small businesses who experienced financial burdens due to the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible to apply for the Payment Protection Program. If you are a small business owner in need of assistance during this time visit the Small Business Administration's website to apply for a loan.
