Arrington Meets with Community and Industry Leaders from Lynn County

TAHOKA, TX – This week, Representative Jodey Arrington (TX-19) visited Tahoka, Texas, to speak with city officials and leaders from Lynn County in agriculture, healthcare, and other key industries.

Rep. Arrington started the day at a roundtable meeting with local farmers, ranchers, and producers.

“I was glad to meet with local agriculture industry leaders from Lynn County to provide a legislative update from Congress and talk about the important issues impacting farmers, ranchers, and producers here in West Texas — where we lead the nation in cotton and energy production,” said Rep. Arrington. “With inflated input costs, record drought conditions, and labor shortages all affecting the industry, I was proud to reassure them that I will work my hardest to ensure we get the 2023 Farm Bill right.”

Tahoka Farmer’s Co-op Gin Manager Bryan Reynolds thanked Rep. Arrington for his support and hard work.

“We are thankful to have hosted Rep. Jodey Arrington this morning at Farmers Co-op Gin. Rep. Arrington understands the importance of agriculture to our community and the South Plains region of Texas. Lynn County plants more acres of cotton than any other county in the United States, and it is the lifeblood of our economy,” said Reynolds. “Our cotton producers continue to face challenges related to increased input costs to produce a crop. We appreciate Rep. Arrington listening to the concerns and issues of our cotton growers. It is nice to know we have someone such as Rep. Arrington representing us and to know that he is willing to take a stand for what he believes is best for our area.”

Next, Rep. Arrington attended a hospital district meeting with healthcare, small business, education, and community leaders.

“Our healthcare workers and hospitals work tirelessly to keep rural America healthy and strong. While our healthcare delivery system is far from perfect, more government is not the answer. I will continue to push for greater transparency and more competition to give patients options and drive down the cost of care,” Rep. Arrington stated.

Rep. Arrington then spoke at the Tahoka Rotary Club luncheon.

“I always love spending time with the local rotary clubs across TX-19, and today was no exception with my friends in Tahoka. We talked about the current economic state of our country, the Democrats’ latest tax-and-spend monstrosity, and West Texas ag priorities,” Rep. Arrington said.

Rep. Arrington ended the day meeting with community leaders from across Lynn County.

“It was great to meet with leaders and officials from Lynn County to talk about several important issues facing West Texas and our nation including record-high inflation and skyrocketing gas and energy prices under the Biden Administration,” said Rep. Arrington. “We also discussed the progress on the Ports-to-Plains Corridor project, which will provide safer, more efficient transportation of people and goods across the Lone Star State.”
