Arrington Addresses Students and Community Leaders in Yoakum County

DENVER CITY, TX – Today, Representative Jodey Arrington (TX-19) visited Denver City, Texas, to meet with Yoakum County community leaders in the agriculture, education, and small business industries and speak with local high school students about the future of America.

Rep. Arrington started the day at the Yoakum County Leadership Summit, providing a legislative update from Congress.

“Today, I sat down with Yoakum County community leaders to discuss the most important issues facing West Texans and the American people. Our nation is experiencing a string of self-inflicted crises from the lawlessness at the border to record crime in the streets of our cities,” said Rep. Arrington. “The Biden Administration and Congressional Democrats have ignited inflation by massive tax-and-spend bills, welfare without work requirements, and an unrelenting assault on American energy. These failed policies are hurting hardworking families in Yoakum County and across the country.”

Heath Hayes with the Denver City Economic Development Corporation said, “We thank Congressman Jodey Arrington for being the keynote speaker at our first annual Leadership Summit. This event gathered leaders from across Yoakum County to discuss new ideas and plan a vision for the future of the county. We are grateful for Congressman Arrington’s message to our county’s leadership and appreciate his dedication and commitment to the people of West Texas.”

Mayor Tommy Hicks welcomed Rep. Arrington to Denver City and commended him for his leadership.

“The people of Denver City and I are excited to have Rep. Arrington in Yoakum County. Our leadership is proud of his work, and it is comforting to know we have a dedicated Congressman who is capable and willing to work so hard to represent the farmers, ranchers, and petroleum industry of Texas’ Nineteenth District,” Mayor Hicks said

The day ended at Denver City High School, where Rep. Arrington addressed the student body and visited with students.

“Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders, so we must invest in our students to ensure the future of our country remains bright. Our teachers and school administrators are the guardians of liberty and serve our communities by nurturing the next generation of freedom-loving West Texans,” Rep. Arrington stated. “I was glad to visit with students and faculty at Denver City High School and wish them a great start to a successful school year. Go Mustangs and go West Texas!”
