Burgess Works to REIN in the Biden Administration

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Vice Chairman of the House Rules Committee, voted in support of H.R. 277 – REINS Act. This legislation would require congressional approval for any executive action by the Biden Administration that would cost at least 100 million dollars annually.

“Both the House and the Senate passed a Congressional Review Act to repeal the unconstitutional executive order to eliminate student loan debt,” said Burgess. “Americans are exhausted by the reckless economic policies put forward by this administration that seek to supercharge and further embed inflation into the American economy. The REINS Act will help stop this administration from spending tax dollars and burdening the next generation of Americans. It is time to return control of the purse to Congress as dictated in Article 1 of the United States Constitution.”
