'Light at the end of the tunnel:' Cline visits Buena Vista vaccine clinic

One of our local lawmakers made a stop in Buena Vista at a vaccine clinic Wednesday afternoon.

Congressman Ben Cline went around chatting with residents as they waited for their turn at the shot.

His goal was to hear their reasons behind getting the vaccine and what may have hindered them from signing up for their appointment.

He says some of the older people said they didn't want to get the shot until their caregiver could get one, too.

Cline says he encourages everyone to get the vaccine.

He says it's a major step in the right direction to reopen the economy.

"We've had a lot of mandates coming out of Richmond on what we can do over the past year, so now we see light at the end of the tunnel," Cline said. "The vaccine is going to get us there that much faster and so hopefully folks will take advantage of it."
