Earlier this week, we honored the life of Detective Paul Newell of the Benton County Sheriff’s Office by unveiling the deputy memorial with his name engraved. Paul tragically passed away as he was escorting wreaths through Bentonville for Wreaths Across America Day last year.
He was one of our best law enforcement officers, and an even better man. Up until his death, he was serving others. Paul had true character and unwavering commitment to the people of our community. We remembered him with immense sorrow and never-ending appreciation for his service to Benton County.
Siloam Springs School District Administration Ribbon Cutting:
|
Siloam Springs has a brand-new, beautiful building for the hardworking school district staff! It was great to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony to see the exciting expansion firsthand and catch up with the people in our special community! I’m incredibly grateful for all our school district staff does to develop our bright young minds into our next generation of leaders.
Visit to Simmons Foods:
While I was in Siloam Springs, I made sure to stop by Simmons Foods to catch up with the CEO, Todd Simmons. Todd talked with me about the poultry industry this year and what’s on the horizon for next year, as his company focuses on poultry, pet, and animal nutrition products. Founded in 1949, this family owned and operated business is part of what makes Arkansas’ Third the economic engine of our great state.
Rogers Fire Chief Tom Jenkins Retirement Reception:
Back when I was mayor of Rogers, I hired Tom Jenkins as Rogers Fire Chief in 2009. Since then, Chief Jenkins has expanded operations to effectively respond to the needs of our growing population in the region. Yesterday, we celebrated his nearly 15-year commitment to keeping us safe at his retirement reception. We are deeply grateful for his faithful service that took the Rogers Fire Department to the next level. We're sad to see him go, but I’m confident Chief Jenkins will be just as successful in his next chapter while continuing to do great things for Rogers!
Congrats, Grad!
My legislative correspondent, Beau Stuckey, graduated from the University of Arkansas on Saturday! He’s been handling our constituent mail program as he finished his degree in economics. I’m so proud of him—and glad to have a proud Razorback alum on my staff!
Merry Christmas!

Santa made a pit stop at the Capitol earlier in the month to help me give a special Merry Christmas to Third District Arkansans! Click the image to listen!

I hope your Christmas day will be filled with blessings of health, happiness, and joyous celebration with loved ones. I am looking forward to spending the special day with my family in Arkansas.
Christmas allows us to pause and reflect on the true reason for the season. Along with the abundance of presents and beautiful lights on the tree, the season is about illuminating joy, hope, and blessings.
We rejoice together as we celebrate the birth of the Christ Child, our Savior Jesus Christ. We embrace the greatness and miracles of God, and we spread words of grace and the spirit of giving.
Although this time of year brings great joy and gratitude for many, we must acknowledge the longing and sadness it brings some—especially those who can’t be home for the holidays.
A special thank you to our hardworking men and women in uniform, law enforcement officers, firefighters, doctors, nurses, first responders, and all those on duty throughout this season while protecting their fellow Americans. Please join me in saying a prayer for their safety and in appreciation of their service.
God bless Arkansas and America. From my family to yours, wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
I hope to see you around before I head back to Washington in the new year. Be sure to check out my website, Twitter, and Instagram pages in the meantime!
