Week in Review

It’s an honor to serve you

Serving Third District Arkansans is the greatest honor of my lifetime. I'm grateful for the work you do every day to make our corner of the Natural State a special place to live, work, start a business, and raise a family. In my next term, I will continue to advance policies in the district's best interest and deliver meaningful results to improve the quality of life for Arkansans.

My top priority is taking care of the needs of those I have the privilege of representing in Congress. My team and I assist hundreds of Arkansans every year when they need help with a federal agency. If you or a family member ever needs assistance, we will work to cut through the red tape and try to solve problems on your behalf. Looking ahead: Congress returns to Washington

With Election Night in the rear-view mirror, many are understandably focused on what’s to come in the new year. Although I’m looking forward to working together with President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect Vance to get our country back on track in January, there is still important work to be done before the year ends.

Congress’ end-of-year to-do list:

  • Pass FY25 Appropriations: The due date to pass fiscal year 2025 appropriations bills was the end of the fiscal year—September 30. But Congress passed a short-term spending fix to punt the deadline to December 20. We must get our act together and fulfill our most fundamental duty of passing fiscally responsible full-year appropriations to ensure our government operates effectively for the American people.
  • Pass the National Defense Authorization Act: This annual, must-pass legislation is essential to bolstering U.S. military capabilities, deterring pacing threats of our adversaries, and supporting our men and women serving in America’s uniform.
  • Pass the Farm Bill: This comprehensive, multiyear package governs an array of agricultural and food programs. Our nation’s food security depends on strong agricultural policy that provides stability and opportunity for farmers, ranchers, and producers across Arkansas and the nation.

I will keep you updated on how we progress, starting with Congress’ return to our nation’s capital next week. As always, the interests of Third District Arkansans will remain top-of-mind for me. Let’s get to work!

Happy Veterans Day weekend!

We have the unique fortune of living in a country where so many have selflessly fought and even laid down their lives for this idea of liberty that our Founding Fathers crafted centuries ago. A nation that gives us the opportunity to pursue life, liberty, and happiness—each of these secured by the sacrifices made by those willing to defend her. Each veteran swore an oath, left loved ones behind, and risked their lives for something bigger than themselves. These are the true heroes of America.

We get to experience the privileges of being a free American—which is all made possible by the people we honor this special weekend. Let’s pass these values down to future generations and never miss an opportunity to thank a veteran. If you are a veteran, please know your sacrifices do not go unnoticed. We are appreciative of your service and inspired by your dedication and love for our country. A grateful nation salutes you.

I remain committed to drafting and advancing legislation to support our veterans. You may read more about my most recent bill, the Protecting Veteran Access to Telemedicine Services Act here. Picture highlights from the week

In 2023, APAC Central responded to the needs of the growing Northwest Arkansas region and invested in this state-of-the-art aggregate crushing plant in Gravette. It was great to join their team at the grand opening. Congratulations!

Organizations such as rotary clubs play a critical role in encouraging citizens, especially our youth, to be engaged in their communities. I shared this sentiment in my visit to the Siloam Springs Rotary Club meeting this week at John Brown University.

As we head into Veterans Day weekend, I was honored to join the Rotary Club of Fayetteville’s Veterans Day celebration to express my gratitude for our veterans. These people have selflessly served, fought, and sacrificed for our nation’s precious freedoms. Arkansas salutes our veterans!

It’s our duty to pass down the values love of country, gratitude of service, and honoring our veterans to the next generation of Americans. Today, I spoke to students at Pea Ridge Middle School’s Veterans Day event. I want them to know how freedom isn’t free—we are fortunate to wake up in the greatest country on Earth every day because of our courageous servicemembers.

Have a great weekend ahead, and I hope to see you around! Be sure to check out my websiteTwitter, and Instagram pages in the meantime.
