The Week in Review
Happy Friday!
I hope you had a wonderful week. I am grateful to serve you all in the 119th Congress. Read below to see what I’ve been working on this week.
Gaveling in the 119th Congress and Electing a House Speaker
Today marked the start of the 119th Congress. I am grateful to return to Congress to represent Arizona Fifth District and look forward to working with my colleagues to advance the interests of Arizona and President Trump's agenda.
Mike Johnson (R-LA) was re-elected to serve as Speaker of the House, with my support. Despite some reservations over his track record as Speaker for the last 15 months, his election will ensure the timely certification of President Trump's election and ensure we can quickly get to work on our America First agenda.
Following the Speaker's election, the House Freedom Caucus Board, of which I am a member, released a letter outlining actions we hope to see in the House in the coming months. You can read that letter here.

Returning to Serve as the Chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance
This week, I was selected to return as the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance for the 119th Congress. This will be my second term as Chairman and my third term as the Subcommittee’s highest ranking Republican.
It’s an honor to serve once again as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance. We’ve worked diligently to expose the radical Biden-Harris regime’s weaponization of federal law enforcement agencies against law-abiding Americans and soft-on-crime and illegal alien policies that made our communities more dangerous. The American people demand change from the inside out, and the Subcommittee is ready to get back to work in January.
The Crime and Federal Government Surveillance Subcommittee wouldn’t be the workhorse we are without my colleagues and staff. I look forward to working alongside Chairman Jordan, members of the Subcommittee, and President Trump to advance policies that will make American communities safe once again.
Legislating for the American People
Today, I reintroduced more than 80 pieces of legislation for the new Congress. These include bills to secure the border, stop lawfare and weaponization of government, cut costly Biden Administration regulations, and protect our national sovereignty. All of my bills can be viewed on Congress.gov, but see below for a few highlights:
Keep an eye out for more info on my legislation.
On the Anti-American Left and the Stages of Grief: Op-Ed
American Leftists have lied about President Trump and his supporters for so long that they are utterly bereft. How will they make it through the new year? Will they proceed through the steps of grief and finally accept that they were in error and outside the bounds of rationality or will they get stuck in anger—the second stage of grief?

Alien Invasion Border Documentary
Check out my border documentary titled Alien Invasion. The 30-minute documentary features footage from private ranches along the border, the Darien Gap in Panama, and interviews with members of Congress, Border Patrol, local and state law enforcement, and much more. It addresses how President Biden’s border crisis began, its consequences, and solutions to address the crisis.
The border documentary may be watched here.
