Voting to Advance Clean Air Legislation

This week, I voted YES on the FENCES Act, which passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 220-208. The bill stops the Green New Deal in its tracks, bringing fairness and transparency to the clean air permitting process– a necessity in states like Arizona.

Home to some of the largest and most robust aerospace and national defense facilities in the country, Arizona cannot afford to continue being punished for naturally occurring weather events that are outside of our control, like yearly desert dust storms or wildfire smoke from California, Canada, and Mexico.

It’s time to cut costs, expedite permitting, and protect Arizona from being held hostage by Big Government.

TAX DAY RECAP: Working Families Tax Cuts Act Saves Arizonans Thousands in Wages

Tax Day 2026 ushered in a wave of increased wages and savings for millions of Arizonans, thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts Act passed by Republicans in Congress and signed into law by President Trump.

Below are some stats detailing how Arizonans are projected to benefit from these meaningful tax cuts:

  • The average tax cut is an estimated $3,521 per taxpayer
  • 18,014 full-time jobs are expected to be added to the state
  • Around 1.3 million seniors could benefit from no taxes on Social Security

During my time in Congress, I have been pleased to vote on two major tax cut laws that return money where it rightly belongs: the American people. The Working Families Tax Cuts Act was historic legislation providing benefits to Americans where they needed it most – an expanded standard deduction, a larger Child Tax Credit, the elimination of taxes on overtime and tips, and a new bonus deduction for Social Security recipients. Republicans are taking action to protect the interests and future of Americans as we seek to expand opportunities and savings for all.

Did the Working Families Tax Cuts Act benefit you this tax season?

Attending a Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony

It was an honor to attend the Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony for Benjamin Berell Ferencz, an Army World War II veteran, who documented Nazi war crimes and later served as chief prosecutor in the Nuremberg trials.

The ceremony, which took place on Holocaust Remembrance Day, was an opportunity to reflect upon the six million lives lost in one of humanity’s most horrific events and a reminder of one man’s courage in the face of pure evil.

I am deeply grateful to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum for hosting such a touching event.

Never again.
