The Week in Review
Happy Friday!
I want to take a moment to wish my lovely wife, Cindy, a happy 45th wedding anniversary! I couldn’t do this job representing the Fifth District without her love and support.

Read below to see what I’ve been working on this week. But first, I want to hear from YOU:
As we approach our nation's 250th birthday, do you feel that America's future is brighter than ever? |

Bidding Farewell to the Shadow Sheriff: My Monitor Accountability Act Passes the House
My Monitor Accountability Act, which ends court-appointed federal monitors in law enforcement agencies, passed the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday in a 219 to 204 vote with bipartisan support.
Did you know since 2013, Maricopa County taxpayers have been forced to foot $350 million for a special monitor and his firm? My bill sets firm guardrails, such as time limits, transparency, and fee caps, to stop this madness.
I spoke more about this issue on my podcast, What’s the Biggs Idea?, with Jon Riches from the Goldwater Institute. Click on the image below to listen. And subscribe to my YouTube channel while you’re at it so you don’t miss another episode!

Democrats Defund the Police. I Back the Blue.
It was an honor to spend Police Week at our Nation’s Capitol with the Apache Junction and Mesa Police Departments. They do so much to keep Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District safe, and I will do all I can to assist them.

While Democrats have spent years calling to defund the police, I am committed to backing the Blue. In this Congress alone, I have introduced and passed several pieces of legislation to support law enforcement and given them more resources to protect our communities, including:
Thank you, law enforcement, for your service!
Honoring Fallen Apache Junction Police Officer Gabriel Facio
Officer Gabriel Facio tragically lost his life on June 8, 2025, after responding to a violent road rage incident. He was the first Apache Junction Police Officer killed in the line of duty and his name now appears on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. On Thursday, I gave a speech on the House floor to honor his life and service.
