Leading Arizona's Fight Against the Drug Crisis with the White House Drug Policy Czar, Sara Carter
This week, I led a series of meetings across Arizona with White House Office of National Drug Control Policy Director Sara Carter to confront the deadly drug crisis harming families in every corner of our state. We focused on real solutions and the work needed to protect our communities from the poison flowing across our southern border.
DEA Briefing and Lab Visit: I joined Director Carter and Rep. Eli Crane for a briefing with our DEA team to review efforts to stop cartel trafficking in Arizona. These agents are on the front lines every day, and I made clear that they have my full support as they continue dismantling the networks pushing fentanyl and other lethal drugs into our neighborhoods.

Inter‑Tribal Roundtable: I convened a roundtable with tribal leaders and tribal law enforcement from across Arizona to ensure their voices are fully represented in federal policy discussions. We heard directly from those on the ground about the challenges their communities continue to face, including drug trafficking routes that cut through tribal lands and the strain placed on families and local services. These leaders spoke candidly about the gaps that remain and the urgent need for stronger coordination with federal partners. We will continue working toward better support, clearer communication, and a guaranteed seat at the table for every tribe affected by this crisis.

Angel Families Roundtable: I also led a deeply emotional roundtable with Angel Families who have lost loved ones to illegal immigration and the flow of illegal drugs across our border. Their stories were heartbreaking and unforgettable. These families carry pain that never goes away, and their courage strengthens my resolve to make sure no other family experiences the same tragedy. Their voices matter, and I will continue to bring their stories directly into the policy debates in Washington. Click on the image below to listen to these powerful testimonies:

I will always fight to ensure Arizona is safe. During my time in Congress, I have introduced and voted on several pieces of legislation to secure our border and communities, including:
- H.R.76- Fund and Complete the Border Wall Act;
- H.R. 64- Grant’s Law;
- H.R.116- Stopping Border Surges Act; and
- H.R.57- Ending Catch and Release Act
