The Week in Review
Happy Friday!
I hope you had a wonderful week. I am grateful to serve you all in the 119th Congress. Read below to see what I’ve been working on this week. But first, I want to test your knowledge from last Friday's newsletter. It's time for a quiz!
The answer will be featured in next week's newsletter. Continue reading to see last week's poll results!
Kayleigh’s Law Passed out of Judiciary Committee. Now it heads to the House Floor.
I am pleased to share that Kayleigh’s Law is on its way to the U.S. House Floor after passing out of the Judiciary Committee with my support. Named after Kayleigh Kozak, an Arizona native and survivor-advocate, the bill ensures that our criminal justice system works for victims– not against them, mandating that violent offenders cannot reinsert themselves into the lives of those they harmed.
Previously, Kayleigh worked to pass the first Kayleigh’s Law in Arizona. I will continue to partner with her and my colleague Rep. Abe Hamadeh, who is the lead sponsor of the bill, to ensure this worthy cause reaches President Trump’s desk. Victims of violent crime must always be supported and protected.

Keep the Nine. No Packing the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court must remain independent from the legislative branch. That’s what the Founders intended, and it’s what preserves the checks and balances that protect American freedoms.
My bill, H.J. Res. 1, Keep the Nine, proposes a constitutional amendment requiring the Supreme Court to remain at nine justices. This isn’t a new or partisan idea. Even the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg warned that court packing would damage the Court’s credibility and make it appear political. Keeping the Court stable, trusted, and independent is essential to safeguarding liberty for the next generation.

Fighting for FISA Reform
In my April 17th newsletter, I asked a simple survey question: should the government be able to access our digital records without a warrant or probable cause?
Nearly everyone voted no.
That’s one of the reasons why I participated in a special order on the House Floor to push for reform in Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which is currently being weaponized to spy on everyday Americans like you and me. Americans can have both liberty and safety, and it’s the government’s job to protect both - not to present citizens with a false binary choice. I’m working with a bipartisan coalition of Members to pass my bill, the Protecting Liberty and Ending Warrantless Surveillance Act, to restore American intelligence to its constitutional place.

Big Win for Arizona Farmers and Ranchers: No More Cattle Grazing Rules.
For too long, America’s farmers and ranchers have been held back by rigid federal grazing rules that limit production and hurt states like Arizona. These rules have slowed growth and made it harder to rebuild America’s cattle herds. A strong and stable supply of affordable U.S. beef depends on giving producers the flexibility they need to grow.
Late last year, I sent a letter to the U.S. Department of the Interior requesting needed changes. I am pleased to share that the agency has now released a proposed grazing rule that gives ranchers more flexibility while continuing responsible land management. This is an important step toward supporting our food supply, strengthening rural communities, and protecting the land we all depend on.
