Addressing Concerns with China 

As Chinese President Xi Jinping visits the United States, I highlighted my record to address national-security, economic, and strategic concerns involving the People’s Republic of China and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Throughout my five-term tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, I have introduced, cosponsored, or supported numerous measures addressing threats and strategic challenges involving China and the CCP. You can read those here.

Protecting Crime Victims

Late last month, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed H.R. 8481, Kayleigh’s Law, by voice vote. The legislation, introduced by Congressman Abe Hamadeh (AZ-08), requires federal courts to issue permanent no-contact orders prohibiting certain convicted violent and sex offenders from contacting their victims if requested by the victim. I was pleased to move this bill through my subcommittee on the Judiciary Committee and onto the House floor. Now, it awaits consideration by the U.S. Senate.

I recently had the honor of interviewing Kayleigh Kozak, the brave individual for whom the bill is named. Kayleigh was sexually abused as a minor, but she has courageously used this horrific experience to advocate for the protection of other victims. I hope you will watch and share this podcast interview.

Honoring Our Gold Star Mothers

This Sunday is Gold Star Mother’s Day, when we honor the moms who have lost sons or daughters on the battlefield in defense of American freedom. These women carry a lasting grief in their souls from the tragic loss of their loved ones, but they are not alone. A grateful nation stands beside them to comfort and thank them for raising the finest men and women this country has ever known.

Securing Arizona's Water Future 

Earlier this month, I introduced the Colorado River Basin Water Security and Infrastructure Act to expand water supplies, accelerate critical infrastructure projects, and strengthen long-term water security throughout the Colorado River Basin.

After its introduction, the Arizona Farm Bureau came forward with its appreciation of the legislation. The Bureau stated, “Arizona Farm Bureau supports efforts to strengthen Colorado River water security and advance the infrastructure investments necessary to protect the long-term water needs of Arizona and the entire Basin. We appreciate Congressman Andy Biggs’ leadership in introducing the Colorado River Basin Water Security and Infrastructure Act and his recognition that addressing the Colorado River’s challenges requires meaningful action, long-term planning, and solutions that expand our water resources."

Meetings and District Events

I was pleased to meet with members of the Arizona Automotive Dealers Association. We discussed the issues facing this industry. Thank you for your time and insightful conversation!

It was great to meet with Strive Pharmacy, one of the largest compounding pharmacies in Arizona, to discuss lowering healthcare costs and continuing innovation in the medical field. I appreciate all you do to ensure the health and well-being of Arizonans!

My office’s Veterans Affairs liaison attended the East Valley RED Friday Patriots meeting to hear from guest speaker and Gold Star mother, Margy Bons. After her son Michael was killed in action, Margy founded the Military Assistance Mission to provide financial assistance and moral aid to Arizona military, wounded heroes, and their families.
