The Economic Impact of Democrats' Spending
This past Friday, I gave a Floor Speech on the economic impact of my Democratic colleagues' legislative agenda. Whether it be the $1.9 trillion spending bill, or immigration legislation recently passed, the efforts being pursued are driving inflation, increasing our spending, and hurting American workers prospects for future opportunities in earnings and growth.
In the last 4 weeks, Democrats have reversed us back to Obama-era policies that will only provide a one-time bump without any prospect for opportunity down the road. Over the last 4 years, Republicans were successful in producing policy to create millions of jobs, reduce unemployment, and increase wages for Americans who hadn't seen growth in years. It is critical for Congress to be focused on drafting pro-growth policies to help us recover from this pandemic. Our policy should be focused on increasing wages, creating new opportunities, and helping Americans safely return to work. To watch my full remarks, click the photo above.
Border Security
Arizonans know the challenges open border policies create for the safety and well-being of our state. During the Trump Administration, we saw a decline in illegal crossings and violence across the southern border. Unfortunately, President Biden has reversed many of these strong border security policies, incentivizing thousands of migrants to come across our border illegally, and ultimately be left abandoned in cities across Arizona.
Republicans in Congress are continuing to highlight the Biden Administration's need to be focused on the growing crisis at our southern border. Whether it be re-starting border wall construction, or re-entering Asylum Cooperation Agreements (ACA) between the United States, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, we must address this crisis to protect our communities.
Thank you for taking the time to read my newsletter. If my office can be of any additional assistance, please feel free to reach out to us.

David Schweikert
