Dear Friend,
I hope you are doing well. I wanted to provide a few updates on my work this past week.
I also wanted to share a recent video podcast I recorded with Brian Riedl, an economist from the Manhattan Institute, where we discussed the impact of increased taxes and spending on our debt and deficit. Be sure to watch this great dialogue here!
Fox Interview
I joined Fox News' Mornings with Maria last Tuesday to discuss the impact of this Administration's open border policies, and the harm to incentives for investment we can expect should the Democrats increase the capital gains tax. We have seen the benefits decreasing taxes have had on our economy, now we must keep the guardrails of the Tax Cuts in Jobs Act in place to regrow the economy. It is more important than ever that we get our labor force and economy back to the pre-pandemic levels.
We also discussed the ongoing border crisis in our country. This Administration is continuing to ignore the crisis and impact that the illegal crossings of thousands of migrants has for the safety and security of our communities. Creating incentives for illegal immigrants to create competition in the labor force at a time when Americans are trying to return to the workforce will continue to hurt hard-working Americans.

Connect for Health Act
I joined my colleagues on the Telehealth Caucus in re-introducing the CONNECT for Health Act, legislation to provide continued access to innovative, affordable health care technologies like telehealth. We have seen the benefits from my legislation to expand telehealth amidst a pandemic provide convenient care for patients, now we must work to make this expansion permanent.
Telemedicine has helped patients easily access their provider and comfortably connect for regular visits. I am continuing to use my role on the Ways and Means Health Subcommittee to advance this bipartisan legislation to provide convenient, affordable, and accessible care for all Americans.

Arizona REAL ID Extension
The Arizona Department of Transportation has extended the Arizona REAL ID deadline from October 2021 to May 3, 2023. This deadline was previously extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and will be a new travel requirement for all Arizonans in order to travel domestically through TSA after May 2023.
An interesting fact - only 43 percent of all state-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards are currently REAL ID-compliant to-date. To read more on the Arizona Real ID, click here to be directed to the AZDOT website. To learn more about the Real ID requirements, visit the TSA website here.
Thank you for taking the time to read my newsletter. If my office can be of any additional assistance, please feel free to reach out to us.
Sincerely,
David Schweikert
