Dear Friend,
I hope you and your family are doing well. I wanted to share a few district updates, and send a survey to learn more about the issues you are focused on.
Now that we have entered the second half of this year with a new Administration and new Congress, I want to follow-up on my survey earlier this year and hear what issues you are focused on right now. I would appreciate your feedback on these questions below.
2021 Issues Survey
Internship Applications for College-Aged Students
My office is still accepting internship applications for college-aged students looking to intern in either my Arizona or Washington, D.C. offices during the Fall Semester. Applicants should be detail oriented, and display a strong work ethic. In addition, applicants should have a strong interest in the legislative process and the function of Congress. The deadline to apply is July 26th, 2021.
For more information about the application process, please visit my website for additional resources when applying.
Washington, D.C. Tour Updates
This past weekend, the fencing surrounding the outer perimeter of the U.S. Capitol officially came down. While the U.S. Capitol and White House still remain closed for visitors, I wanted to share a few updates for any Arizona families who may traveling to Washington, D.C. in the coming months.
The Smithsonian museums have begun updating their websites for museums opening and for individuals to reserve passes. For a list of the Smithsonian museums and galleries open, click here. To view a full list of Washington, D.C. exhibits, memorials, museums, and more re-opening, visit my website here.
If our Washington, D.C. office can ever be helpful for Arizonans traveling to our nation's capitol, please don't hesitate to reach out to us!
Rosie the Riveter Memorial Garden
I wanted to share a photo we received from the Rosie the Riveter Memorial Garden in Fountain Hills. In an effort to help ensure that the contributions of women who worked on the Home Front during WWII - known collectively as "Rosie the Riveter" - are fully acknowledged, members of the Spirit of '45 Day collaborative are leading a national effort to create a "living" memorial in the form of a network of Rosie the Riveter Memorial Rose Gardens.

I appreciate you taking the time to take my survey and read my weekly newsletter. If my offices can ever be helpful to you, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Sincerely,
David Schweikert
