Dear Friend,
I hope you and your family are staying healthy and well. I wanted to provide you with an update on my work this past week in Washington, D.C., and share some resources our office can provide for you.
Advancing Health Care Innovation
I introduced the Advanced Safe Testing at Residence Telehealth Act - "A START" - legislation focused on expanding access to innovative health care technologies and reducing health care costs. This legislation is an important step forward in expanding patient and provider access to health care innovation that will promote high quality, 21st century technology-based care.
The COVID-19 pandemic revealed just how valuable access to health care technology can be, and I am proud to build upon its advancements. The A-START Act would accelerate the enormous achievements recently made in expanding telehealth, diagnostics, screening, wearables, and patient monitoring technology. Patients deserve access to the best information and data that modern technology can provide, to make informed decisions about their health.
I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues to disrupt the cost of healthcare, and transform Americans' medicine cabinets to promote a healthier society. To learn more about this legislation, click here.
Our Infrastructure Must Be Future-Focused
As we continue to discuss our infrastructure needs in Congress, I wanted to highlight the need for our proposals to be future-focused. Whether it be streamlining permitting-processes, or advancing technology that can promote 21-century infrastructure in our communities, our policies must be focused on infrastructure that will benefit our communities for years to come.
Too often, Washington creates policies that delay the innovative solutions we are seeing come to market through bureaucratic red tape. As we continue to discuss infrastructure, I will be advocating for streamlined processes, and 21-century policies that will support our infrastructure needs for both the present and the decades to come.
