I hope you had a productive week and a restful weekend. Below is an update of my recent work back home in AZ-06 and Washington, D.C.

Our Children's Futures Are Determined By Our Present

Last week, I spoke on the House Floor expressing my deep concern for our children's futures and the impact President Biden's $3.5 trillion spending package will have on them. We've already overdrawn the nation's bank account and the American people cannot afford for this to continue.

The proposals created by my brothers and sisters on the left hit the communities they've promised to uplift the hardest. The Democrats have falsely promised that they will save our environment with Green New Deal policies, and save our economy by taxing the rich and closing the wealth gap. However, we are already seeing that greenhouse gases have increased, coal production has actually skyrocketed over the last year, and there are tax loopholes embedded in the bill that exclusively help the rich.

Honoring Dr. C.T. Wright

Last week, I was proud to introduce H.R. 5650, legislation that would rename the United States Post Office located at 16605 E Avenue of the Fountains, in Fountain Hills, AZ, as the Dr. C.T. Wright U.S. Post Office.

Dr. Wright was a charismatic and deeply respected member to many of our local communities. As an educator, he expanded learning opportunities at various school across the board and left a lasting impact on those he taught. He also spearheaded efforts to enhance human rights around the nation.

His efforts have left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege to both meet and work with him. May this dedication serve as a reminder of his commendable legacy.

Border Apprehensions Reach A Record 1.7 Million

I am deeply concenred by the crisis currently happening at our Southern Border. Last week, border crossings reached a record high, with US Customs and Border Protection reporting that 1.7 million people in total have been apprehended over the last 12 months - the highest levels ever recorded.

President Biden has continued to overlook this situation entirely, and has failed to visit the border once since his time in office. It is a safety risk to both our citizens and those who choose to make the trek to the border. The sizable amount of people crossing over makes it all the more difficult for our border agents to do thorough screening, continuing to put greater stress on border states like Arizona.

We must prioritize the safety of Americans first and encourage those who wish to call the U.S. home to employ legal means to come to the U.S., for their family's safety and their own.

 The Medicare open enrollment period is currently available and will run through December 7th.
