Fall Internship Deadline Extended
The deadline to apply for a fall internship in my Washington, D.C. and Scottsdale offices is this Saturday, August 19th. Strong ties to Arizona's First Congressional District or the state of Arizona are preferred, but not required. Priority is given to current college students, but recent high school graduates with exceptional credentials may be considered. Additional details on the application process can be found on my website here.
Visiting Ahavas Torah
Last week, I had the opportunity to tour Ahavas Torah and visit with Rabbi Ariel Shoshan. It was great getting to speak with several young men who traveled to Scottsdale from all over the country to study the Torah this summer, and I wish them the best of luck in their studies this year.
What I’m Reading & Why It Matters
This week, I'm reading an article in the Wall Street Journal about the recent development of cash as one of the world's safest assets and the advantages to playing it safe with cash as U.S. debt and interest costs continue to soar. I'm also reading the latest update from the Congressional Budget Office that the federal budget totaled $2.3 trillion over the past 12 months, up 65% from the $1.4 trillion deficit in Fiscal Year 2022. If you're keeping score at home, that's $72,932 every second, which is absolutely absurd.
Thank you for taking the time to read this update on my latest work in Washington, D.C. and Arizona’s First Congressional District! If you have any comments or concerns, I encourage you to reach out to my office.
Sincerely,
David Schweikert |
