The United States continues to make countless strides in facets of both social and economic success. Our country has remained resilient amidst trials and tribulations, and it's because of the continued perseverance displayed by America's workforce to lift us out of economic despair.

We celebrate the contributions made by workers that have propelled the prosperity and strength of our great Country. A huge thank-you to all the hardworking individuals, businesses, and other entities that have continued to propel our state into further success. Recognizing Some Amazing Citizens of AZ-01

The week before the August recess, my office was paid a visit by the gentleman of the Arizona State University Swim Team! Sun Devil Men's Swim and Dive are coming off their first national championship in program history and visited our Nation's Capitol before attending the White House NCAA Champions event on Monday, July 22. It was a heartwarming experiencing to see such hardworking athletes from my alma mater pay our DC staff a visit.

The ASU swim season kicks off with two straight home meets on October 4 to a dual meet at 6 p.m. MST. To follow along with the Sun Devils in 2024-25, follow the team's Twitter/X account, @ASUSwimDive and on Instagram @sundevilswimdive. Best of luck to you, gentlemen!

Better, Faster, Cheaper: How Innovation is Expanding Optimism for the Future

Image

Many of you know my fascination with innovation and the further implementation of technology into different facets of many industries. The up-and-coming innovation is extensive, and luckily, there are thousands of scholarly studies and research pieces being released daily that expand on progress of these projects. Not enough members of Congress take the time to capitalize on how these innovative advancements actually promote the health and well-being of our society. Here’s a newsletter segment that dives deeper into technological implementations that are actively making life faster, better, and cheaper for our brothers and sisters.

It's no secret that we all want cleaner air, while at the same time, continuing to grow economically. What if I told you that the best way to do that is actually crowdsourcing air quality tests?

In a video that explores our current practices of working to make air quality consistently cleaner, I question if paperwork noting "compliance" actually works to protect the air quality of our communities. We've come up with a better, faster, and cheaper method of ensuring our neighborhoods are breathing clean air: real time, air quality data collected by YOU. Scratch the hours of bureaucratic paperwork and consider a tool that connects to an already-habitual aspect of your daily routine– your phone.

We've proposed attaching air quality sensors to our cellphones that provide air quality readings from areas all across the community. This is a timely method to display current air quality ratings, while at the same time, getting rid of the bureaucracy that comes along with compliance regulations. Better yet, this allows us to find the direct source causing a potential threat to clean air.

Schweikert Suggests...

This week, I wanted to highlight some resources that come along with National Passport Month

Before you book your travel, make sure your passport is up to date.  If your passport is going to expire within the next year, now is a great time to renew while processing times are down, and the summer travel rush is over. Renewing your passport can be easy, but make sure you use official services offered by the U.S. Department of State to avoid scam websites. Whether you’re traveling or using your passport as proof of U.S. citizenship, Schweikert Suggests all constituents maintain a valid passport. For more information on how to renew and apply for a U.S. passport visit travel.state.gov/passport.  Take a moment to review the FTC passport consumer alert here: https://consumer.ftc.gov/consumer-alerts/2024/07/avoid-scam-websites-offer-help-you-get-or-renew-your-passport.

Do you have any general questions that I can help answer? Do not hesitate to reach out to my offices at (202) 225-2190 or (480) 946-2411.

Thank you for taking the time to read this update on my latest work in Washington, D.C. and Arizona’s First Congressional District! If you have any comments or concerns, I encourage you to reach out to my office.

Sincerely,
