Dear Friend,

As 2024 comes to a close, so does my freshman term in Congress. I wanted to take a moment to reflect on our shared journey. Serving you in Congress has been the honor of a lifetime, and as I look forward to the 119th Congress, I am grateful and humbled to have your trust for another two years. There is so much work to be done in 2025 and beyond, and I want you to know that I will always be focused on fighting to preserve the American Dream and ensure our country is more prosperous for future generations.

Serving You.

Navigating federal agencies can be complicated, confusing, time-consuming, and frustrating. Far too often, my constituents have difficulties accessing the payments, benefits, services, and refunds they rightfully deserve. This is why, from my first day in office, my team and I have been committed to advocating for you and helping you navigate the complicated bureaucracy to ensure my constituents receive the money, refunds, and benefits they are entitled to.

I am so proud to announce that through these efforts:

  • My team closed 958 cases
  • Returning $2.35 million to our nation’s heroes – our veterans
  • Totaling over $6 million directly returned to constituents across AZ-06

If you, or someone you know, needs assistance with a federal agency, please call my District Office at (520) 881-3588 or visit my website here.

Returning Federal Dollars Home to AZ06.

As your Representative, it is my duty - and honor - to be a voice for AZ-06 in our nation’s Capital and deliver tangible results. This is why I am so proud to initially secure $34 million in community project funding across all five counties in our district for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025. Find a breakdown of each project here

And in FY 2024, I secured $26 million across all five counties in our district. Should the funds for FY 2025 be signed into law, I will have secured over $60 million for our district during my freshman term in Congress.

Freshman Legislative Record.

During my freshman term in office, my focus has been on addressing the crisis at the southern border, reining in wasteful spending and streamlining government, lowering costs, supporting our veterans, and so much more. More than anything, I am extremely proud that six of my bills passed the House of Representatives, with all gaining bipartisan support, and two of my bills were signed into law!

The six bills passed in the 118th Congress:

  • The VET-TEC Authorization Act of 2023 (H.R. 1669) which extends a popular program that covers costs for veterans seeking job training in high-tech industries.

  • The Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act (H.R. 8371) to reform and improve the delivery of healthcare, benefits, and services at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for veterans, their families, and their survivors.

  • The Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act (H.R. 5585) which imposes federal penalties on individuals who engage in high-speed car chases with law enforcement officers within 100 miles of the border.

  • The Critical Mineral Consistency Act (H.R. 8446) which would ensure parity between Critical Materials, as defined by the Department of Energy (DOE), and Critical Minerals, as defined by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The effort also would eliminate the confusion between the two definitions and give the same benefits to both Critical Materials and Critical Minerals, furthering the United States’ mission to end reliance on foreign adversaries for critical minerals and materials.

  • The Prioritizing Veterans’ Survivors Act (H.R. 7100) to move the Office of Survivors Assistance (OSA) back within the Office of the VA Secretary. This move ensures that OSA has direct access to the Secretary to fix policy and program-wide problems.

  • The Udall Foundation Reauthorization Act of 2023 (H.R. 2882) to reauthorize the Tucson-based Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation, named after Arizona’s former U.S. Congressmen Mo and Stewart Udall, until 2028.

Committee Activity.

As Arizona’s only member on the House Appropriations Committee, I am committed to reducing waste, responsibly funding the critical services that my constituents rely on, and ensuring that our district needs are prioritized at a federal level. Since my first day in office, I have advocated for funding to improve infrastructure, protect our water, strengthen public safety, supporting our troops and veterans, and improving quality of life.

As Representative to over 70,000 veterans, and as a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, caring for our nation’s heroes is a solemn duty I do not take lightly. These brave individuals answered duty’s call in service to their fellow Americans. When they hang up their uniform, it is our turn to stand up for them. This is why I organized a Veterans Advisory Council, to hear directly from those who served about the unique challenges facing our veterans and how we can make the federal government work for you.

Seeing You Around Town.

Whether it’s presenting a Congressional Certificate to recognize outstanding achievements, visiting a Title-1 school, or hosting an event to honor the Veteran Servant Leaders of AZ-06, seeing you around town is one of my greatest privileges as your Member of Congress. This year, I had the opportunity to visit over 200 small businesses, farms, community health centers and community meetings. I spoke at numerous employee town-halls and brought dozens of my colleagues from DC to the border. These visits are a key piece of my job, learning about our communities needs and taking these priorities with me back to Washington to fight for a better tomorrow for AZ-06.

When I can’t be there, my team is always present, and this year alone we presented 3,657 Congressional Certificates of Recognition! If you, or someone you know, deserves recognition, please call my District Office at (520) 881-3588 or visit my website here.

Looking Ahead.

As I look ahead to the 119th Congress, I am energized to work with the incoming administration and my colleagues in the House and Senate to deliver the change, you the American people, demand. This means securing our border while maintaining the smooth flow of commerce, improving the broken immigration system, lowering every-day costs, fighting to secure Arizona’s water security, and restoring a doctrine of peace through strength to restore American leadership in the world stage. Once again, thank you for placing your trust in me for another two years, I look forward to continue fighting for our district, our state, and our great nation!
