Profiles of the American Dream.
Fans, friends and colleagues packed an elegant meeting room at the Arizona Inn earlier this month to celebrate W. Mark Clark, the retiring president and CEO of the Pima Council on Aging.
Mark has been at the helm of PCOA since 2014 and has a well-earned reputation as a champion for older adults. Under his leadership, the Tucson-based non-profit has become a national leader in promoting dignity and respect for aging.
This kind of advocacy is nothing new for Mark. He’s been involved with behavioral health, human services, housing and faith-based organizations for four decades. And his impact has not gone unnoticed. Mark is a recipient of Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness and Arizona chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.
“Being a social worker has provided me with unique opportunities to serve my community and help those in need,” he says.
Mark exemplifies the American Dream. We wish him the best on his retirement and thank him for his dedication to a truly worthy cause.
