Laken Riley Act Signed Into Law.

The Laken Riley Act, which I was proud to cosponsor and vote in favor of, was the very first bill President Trump signed into law! This crucial legislation ensures that any illegal immigrant who commits a crime is not allowed to remain in the United States. By passing this bill, we honor Laken's memory and ensure that such tragedy never happens again.

Critical Mineral Consistency Act.

Arizona leads the way in the production of critical minerals, which are key to our economy, national security, and clean energy technologies. As demand for these resources continues to grow, it is essential that our federal agencies are operating with the same understanding and definitions.

This is why I re-introduced the Critical Mineral Consistency Act (H.R. 755) which would strengthen the domestic supply of critical minerals by ensuring parity and confer the same benefits to Critical Materials, as defined by the Department of Energy (DOE), and Critical Minerals, as defined by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). This will strengthen our domestic supply and secure these resources for a more resilient future.

Friday Pilots Lunch.

When I’m back in the district, one of my favorite stops is always the Friday Pilots Weekly Lunch!  I enjoyed discussing my priorities in the 119th Congress and specifically my efforts to help our veterans as a Member of the Veteran Affairs Committee.

These brave pilots, representing all four branches of our military, are patriots of the highest order and true American heroes! Ranging from captains to four-star generals, these heroes served in every war, from the Korean War to the Second Gulf War.

Thank You Arizona Firefighters.

Our firefighters always go above and beyond the call of duty. In times of emergency, while others run away, our fighters run towards danger, braving smoke and fire to protect life and opportunity.

I want to honor the bravery and share my sincere appreciation for the firefighters in our district, and across Arizona, who helped in southern California. In times of crisis, our firefighters run towards danger, braving smoke and fire to protect life and property. Their selfless dedication, courage, and commitment to service embody the very best of our communities and remind us of the unity that binds all of us as Americans. These brave men and women work tirelessly in grueling conditions to contain the flames and provide relief to those affected. Thank you for your service, today and always.

Congressional Art Competition.

Enter the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for a chance to have your art displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year and a trip to attend the annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC! The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in AZ-06.

The Congressional Art Competition is open to all high school students in Arizona’s Sixth District. The exhibit in Washington will include the winning artwork from all participating districts from around the country. The winning artwork is also featured on House.gov's Congressional Art Competition page. The deadline for submissions for the 2024 Congressional Art Competition is Friday, April 18th, 2025 at 5pm. A bunch of old geezers telling war stories.

That’s how a member of The Friday Pilots once described their weekly lunches at Tucson’s Hacienda del Sol. He wasn’t wrong.

The 30 or so guys who get together every week certainly have been around awhile. The youngsters of the group are in their upper 50s, most are much older. And they do tell lots of stories. But The Friday Pilots are not your average collection of senior citizens shooting the breeze. Each one is a retired Air Force, Army, Navy or Marine pilot and the stories they tell really are about war.

Members of this elite group are all highly decorated combat veterans and have lived through experiences most of us can’t even imagine. They range in rank from lieutenant to lieutenant general. Some flew bombers, others fighter jets. A chopper pilot is in the mix, and they even had a former astronaut up until 2022, when Jim McDivitt passed away at age 93. At least two are Vietnam-era POWs. Some were on nuclear alert during the Cold War. All are patriots.
