Celebrating 100 Days of the 119th Congress!

As Arizona breaks 100 degrees, the U.S. House of Representatives recently completed the first 100 days of the 119th Congress. I hit the ground running in January, building on the success from my first term to serve our district and prioritize the needs of our community.

From working with President Trump to secure the border, to passing legislation for our district's nearly 80,000 veterans, to working with my colleagues to get rid of waste and abuse in the federal government while protecting vital services for the most vulnerable among us, to returning nearly $3 million directly back to constituents in the 119th Congress so far, to appointing more than 20 students to our nation's military academies, and more, I am fully committed to continue delivering real results. I am also honored that my efforts in Congress has earned me the honor of being named the most effective member of the Arizona congressional delegation. I’m very proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish so far and we’re just getting started!

Ramping Up Pressure to Protect Medicaid.

I want to be crystal clear – I support reducing waste and finding ways to streamline the federal government while strengthening Medicaid benefits for those the program was intended to serve: single mothers, the working poor, those with disabilities, and the elderly. I support targeted reforms that improve the delivery of benefits, reduce the rate of improper payments, and fix flaws in the program.

I recently joined a group of fellow Republicans in a letter to House Republican leadership and Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Brett Guthrie making clear that I "cannot and will not" vote for legislation that reduces Medicaid coverage vulnerable populations that depend on them. You can read the full letter here.

Countering Cartel Drone Threats at the Southern Border.

While we’ve made tremendous progress to secure the southern border, Mexican drug cartels won’t give up on their multi-billion operations easily. During the recent Congressional delegation trip, I led to the Arizona-Mexico border, my colleagues and I heard from members of the National Border Patrol Council about their concerns surrounding the use of aerial drones by cartels and the threats they pose to our law enforcement officers, our servicemembers, and our national security.

This is why I sent a letter with Rep. John McGuire (R-VA) and several Republican colleagues to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, and Federal Aviation Administration Acting Administrator Chris Rocheleau requesting answers about each agency’s jurisdiction and responsibility monitoring and countering drone activity at the southern border.

Casework Corner.

Since my first day in office, my team and I have focused on advocating for your needs, especially when it comes to getting the benefits, refunds, and support you need from a federal agency. I am so proud to say that, through casework, my team has returned $8.9 million in total to constituents, including $3.65 million for veterans, $2.8 million in 2025, and $1 million in savings in just one week! Check out some success stories below!

After working hard his entire life, Mike B., was devastated when multiple surgeries left him unable to work. He applied for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), assuming his years of contributions would make the process simple. Instead, he faced two years of delays, endless phone calls, and frustration.

That’s when he decided to reach out to Congressman Ciscomani’s office—something he never thought would make a difference. “I figured, yeah right, he’s not interested in my problems,” Mike admitted. But within 13 days of our office’s involvement, he received his award letter, securing over $190,000 in benefits and the financial stability he desperately needed.

“If it weren’t for a strong support system and Congressman Ciscomani’s intervention, I would be homeless today,” he shared. A month later, the congressman personally called to congratulate him and check in. “One of the best conversations I’ve had in a long time.”

If you, or anyone you know, is having an issue with a federal agency please do not hesitate to reach out to my district office at 520-881-3588 or by visiting my website here

In the News.

Ciscomani, handful of GOP Lawmakers Push to Protect Medicaid Coverage
Herald/Review
A group of House Republicans, including Rep. Juan Ciscomani of CD-6, is urging party leadership to protect Medicaid from budget cuts as Congress prepares to negotiate a broader fiscal package.

Republicans lead bipartisan, bicameral bill to combat organized retail crime
Ripon Advance
Among the 19 original cosponsors of H.R. 2853 are Reps. Valadao and Lee, as well as U.S. Reps. Mark Amodei (R-NV), Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ), and Susie Lee (D-NV). The same-named companion bill is led by U.S. Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV).

Letter: Town hall meetings
Arizona Daily Star
There has been a lot of criticism directed at Juan Ciscomani for not holding an in-person town hall meeting. My guess is that none of those critics ever were the brunt of a disruption at such a forum that had no interest in a fair exchange of ideas. My reelection bid for county supervisor in my home state of Wisconsin had that privilege. That was almost 50 years ago, so it appears that the “resistance” has not learned anything new in all that time. I get several e-mails from Congressman Ciscomani every week. I don’t need to leave the comfort of my La-Z-Boy to find out what he’s doing. It’s a lot more informative than listening in person to people yelling at each other. I wish I would have had that option back then. No one learned anything. Maybe that was the idea.

Profiles of the American Dream.

Trayvion White-Austin is fast. Very fast.

The Tucson sprinter ran track at Sahuaro High School, kept running at Central Arizona College and took off like a bolt of lightning after transferring to the University of Arizona.

Within the span of a few months last year, Trayvion broke a three-decade old record, qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials and went 3-for-3 in earning NCAA Championship spots in the 100-meters, 200-meters and 4x100-meter relay.

“I like to run,” he told KGUN9 recently.

Talk about an understatement. Trayvion is realizing his version of the American Dream by doing what he loves. And in pursuit of his passion, he’s become one of the nation's top sprinters and the fastest ever sprinter at Arizona.

We applaud his success.
