Celebrating the Army’s 250th Anniversary.
On June 14, 1775, at the outset of the Revolutionary War, the U.S. Army was established, marking the birth of our nation’s first military force. These brave soldiers, dedicated to a cause far greater than themselves, risked life and limb in service to their fellow countrymen and laid down the foundation for what would become the greatest country in the history of the world – the United States of America.
This past Saturday, I was proud to celebrate the Army’s 250th Birthday and give thanks to all the heroes in the Army, and especially those in Fort Huachuca, for their continued service to our nation.

Played in the Annual Congressional Baseball Game for Charity.
I had an amazing time playing in the Congressional Baseball Game alongside colleagues from both sides of the aisle in the House and the Senate. Republicans won by a score of 13-2, securing our fifth straight victory!
This game was a record-breaking success, raising over $2.8 million to charity and drawing in over 31,000 fans! This event is a fantastic opportunity for members of Congress to come together for a common cause – something that unfortunately doesn’t happen often enough in Washington D.C. Learn more about the Congressional Baseball game here!

Pushing to Increase Benefits for Online Student Veterans.
As service members transition back to civilian life and pursue educational opportunities, they deserve to have access to the benefits their service earned, regardless of whether the classes are in-person or virtual.
As education pathways continue to evolve and online classes become more prevalent, I am proud to introduce the bipartisan Expanding Access for Online Veteran Students Act (H.R. 3753) to increase the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) monthly housing allowance for student-veterans who attend classes online during the summer semester. Under current law, student-veterans enrolled in online classes only receive half the monthly housing allowance compared to their in-person counterparts.

Applauding Administration’s Plan to Counter Drone Activity at the Southern Border.
During a recent Congressional Delegation trip that I led to the Arizona-Mexico border, my colleagues and I heard from members of the National Border Patrol Council about the threat’s cartel drones pose to our law enforcement officers and our national security.
Following this visit, I sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, and Federal Aviation Administration Acting Administrator Chris Rocheleau requesting answers about each agency’s jurisdiction and responsibility monitoring and countering drone activity at the southern border.
You can watch additional coverage here.
Last week, the Trump administration issued an Executive Order to counter the use of unmanned aerial drones, like the ones utilized by the cartels, and secure our airspace along the southern border – just as my colleagues and I urged in our letter.

Meeting with the Arizona Farm Bureau.
Cattle and cotton are two of Arizona’s five “C’s” and are vitally important in southeastern Arizona.
Last week, I had a fantastic meeting with the Arizona Farm Bureau to discuss key agricultural issues impacting our district and how I can continue to use my position in Congress to support and advocate for our farmers and ranchers.

Highlighting Efforts to End Homelessness.
During an oversight hearing of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD), I had the opportunity to speak with HUD Secretary Scott Turner about his priorities within the Department and highlight the incredible work Gospel Rescue Mission (GRM) is doing in Tucson. Faith-based providers, like GRM, are vital partners in addressing the issue of homeless with dignity, compassion, and real results. Watch here!
You can find my full discussion with Secretary Turner here.

Meeting with the Alzheimer’s Association.
I met with the Alzheimer’s Association to discuss their ongoing efforts to combat Alzheimer’s and other dementia, which disproportionately affect women and Hispanic populations. From meeting with them in both D.C. and Tucson, advocating for more funding, and attending their annual walk, I am proud to be a strong supporter for continued funding for Alzheimer’s research, expanding access to early detection and treatment, and strengthening caregiver support.

Letter: Congressman Ciscomani Standing Up for Medicaid
Tucson Star
“On behalf of the Southeast Arizona Economic Development Group, I want to extend sincere thanks to Congressman Juan Ciscomani for his visit with our membership during a recent luncheon and for touring Cochise County hospitals, including Benson Hospital."
Cochise County Won’t be the same without Jane Strain
My Herald/Review
“She has also played an instrumental role in the political campaigns of numerous locally elected officials, including most recently that of Congressman Juan Ciscomani, who invited her to be his guest at last year's State of the Union address.”
Ciscomani, Wicker lead bicameral effort to combat syphilis health crisis
Ripon Advance
“As rates of congenital syphilis continue to rise in Arizona’s newborns, we must ensure that our mothers, families, and healthcare professionals have access to information, treatment, and solutions they need to address this highly preventable disease,” Rep. Ciscomani said.

Profiles of the American Dream.
It was late winter 1877 when U.S. Army Capt. Samuel Marmaduke Whitside led two companies of the 6th Cavalry to a prime spot at the base of the Huachuca Mountains in what was then the Territory of Arizona. The captain, a seasoned veteran of the Civil War, immediately saw the potential.
The heavily wooded and well-watered location was an excellent observation point for the surrounding area. Capt. Whiteside and the 127 troopers under his command established a camp – a camp that we know today as Fort Huachuca.
As the Army celebrates its 250th anniversary, it’s worth noting the extraordinary contribution the Fort has made to our American Dream. The men and women who’ve served there over the decades include Buffalo Soldiers, the Women’s Army Corps and the highly trained U.S. Army Intelligence Center and Network Enterprise Technology Command.
The Fort plays an integral role in our nation’s defense and in our local economy. Fortunately for us, it hasn’t forgotten its territorial roots – as anyone who has seen the horse mounted B Troop charge across Brown Parade Field. It’s a sight to behold.
