Hosted Third Veteran Servant Leader Award Event.
As a representative to nearly 80,000 veterans who proudly call AZ06 home, last week I had the distinct honor of hosting my third Veteran Servant Leader Award Ceremony to honor 32 remarkable men and women from Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pinal, and Pima Counties for their outstanding continued service to our communities long after they have hung up their uniforms. These 32 individuals exemplify some of the very best that our district has to offer. Their leadership, compassion, and dedication strengthen our neighborhoods and remind us of what it truly means to be a servant leader. Recognizing these veterans in front of their families and loved ones is truly one of the highest privileges of mine as a representative of Congress. Each awardee received a Veteran Servant Leader Award certificate and a challenge coin, and those who served in Vietnam were presented with a special commemorative pin in gratitude for their service.
You can view the full list of our Fall 2025 awardees HERE.

Honored Former Coach Kelly Pierce and Students at Salpointe’s Heroes Assembly.
I was honored to join Salpointe Catholic High School’s Heroes Assembly this past week to present a printed copy of the Congressional Record containing the floor speech I gave in memory of Kelly Pierce to her family and former players. This Congressional Record serves as the official archive of the United States Congress, and having my floor speech tribute entered into it ensures Kelly’s legacy and impact as a coach, mentor, and friend will forever be part of our nation’s record and history. Watch my floor speech honoring the late Kelly Pierce HERE or by clicking the image below:
Also, during Salpointe’s assembly, the Carlos Valencia ’06 Memorial Award and the John Glinski ’68 Award were given to Tony Jin and Elijah Valencia respectively. I was proud to join and recognize their faith, perseverance, compassion, and strength! Inspirations for our community.

Hosted a Roundtable with Arizona’s Employers on the Working Families Tax Cut Act.
Last week, I had a great roundtable discussion with Tucson business leaders about our work in Congress to strengthen research and development, to eliminate taxes on overtime pay, and to ensure rural southern Arizona receives its fair share of the Rural Health Transformation Program. I’m proud to carry the voice and priorities of AZ06 in D.C.

Team Member Updates.
I’m proud to share that two outstanding members of Team Ciscomani have been promoted.
Gabbi Sheitelman will now serve as Deputy Chief of Staff.
Alex Fink will serve as Legislative Director.
Gabbi and Alex have each been instrumental in our policy work for Arizona’s Sixth District—from water and natural resources to defense, veterans, health care, and community project funding. Their expertise and dedication have helped drive results for our communities, and I’m excited to see them take on these new leadership roles as we continue delivering for our district. |

So, whether you’re a school group or a family on vacation, we’d love for you to stop by our office. If you or someone you know is planning a trip to Washington, D.C., please reach out—we're happy to help schedule tours of the U.S. Capitol, the White House, and other federal buildings. Click HERE for a list of all the locations in Washington D.C. you can visit. You can request tour tickets here or by calling my office at (202) 225-2542.

Health insurance crisis front and center as government reopens
KOLD
"As Rep. Juan Ciscomani and Congressional Republicans said, the cost of the Affordable Care Act for taxpayers is just too high. “It’s not a perfect system, let’s make it better, but that’s never going to be the intention; it’s always been to get rid of it and privatize, which is not what I’m going to be advocating for,” Grijalva said. But Ciscomani said he doesn’t want that at all. In fact, he wants to make sure that rates are not tripling, especially before the holidays, as they take the time to figure out a solution." Arizona politicians react to passage of bill to end longest government shutdown in US history
KTAR News
“Arizona politicians took to X, reacting to the passage of a continuing resolution that ended the longest U.S. government shutdown ever. The final vote tally in the House of Representatives was 222-209 with all Arizona representatives voting along party lines. It was signed by President Donald Trump around 8:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. Reps Andy Biggs, Eli Crane and Juan Ciscomani all expressed pride for voting in favor of the measure.” Full SNAP benefits, federal pay resume in Arizona
AOL
"The federal government has reopened, meaning SNAP beneficiaries in Arizona and elsewhere will receive full assistance. It also means thousands of Arizonans who work for federal agencies will be paid. U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani, R-Arizona, called the 43-day shutdown “completely unnecessary.” Ciscomani added that it was “disappointing to see so many Democrats, especially Arizonans, voting to remain shut down.” EA, Ciscomani’s office honors veterans

"The five Graham County men designated by U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani, R-Ariz., as veteran servant leaders were honored during Eastern Arizona College’s Veterans Ceremony on Thursday. The men received Certificates of Congressional Recognition from Becky Freeman, Ciscomani’s chief of staff. “It honors recipients’ ongoing commitment to serve in leadership in civilian life, after they have made their contributions through the military in serving our nation,” Freeman said." Arizona lawmakers taking different approaches to getting paid during shutdown Arizona’s Family Channel Five
“Rep. Juan Ciscomani, a Republican who represents southeastern Arizona, signed a letter on Wednesday requesting that his pay be withheld until the government reopens.” Arizona’s junior senator Sen. Gallego (D-AZ) said that he will not do so as he “can’t afford a paycheck.”

Profiles of the American Dream
Aaron Hennequin is a retired Army warrant officer with 20 years of active service and a doctorate degree in strategic security. His wife Victoria Holts served five years in the Army as a pharmacist technician and worked as a pharmacist after she traded her uniform for civilian clothes. With training and credentials like that, the last thing you might expect is to find this Sierra Vista couple presiding over a honkytonk bar and restaurant. Yet that’s exactly where they’ve been since the summer of 2022. Aaron and Victoria run Doc’s Watering Hole, a 7,000-square-foot, two-story labor of love not too far from Fort Huachuca’s main gate. Since then, Doc’s has become a go-to place in Cochise County for country music, line dancing and some tasty food. So, before we get too far from Veterans Day 2025, we’d like to shine our American Dream spotlight on this dynamic duo behind Doc’s. Aaron and Victoria spent years living apart because of their military service. But their shared love of country music and dancing prompted them to take the plunge and start their own business. By all accounts, it’s been a success. Doc’s has earned a City Business Recognition Award from Sierra Vista’s Economic Development Commission, and in 2023 Aaron and Victoria were recognized as proprietors of the Veteran-Owned Business of the Year. Doc’s stood out, though, not just for the dancing and food, but for its community involvement. Aaron and Victoria are well known for their support of local charities and often partner with other veteran owned businesses. As Victoria put it, they “definitely believe in giving back to the community.”
