Wrapping Up 2025.

As 2025 comes to a close, I want to say how proud I am to be your representative in Congress. This past week was my final vote in Washington, D.C. for the year 2025 and I have headed back to our district for the holidays.

It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve our community and work every day to deliver results that matter for families, veterans, small businesses, and hardworking Arizonans over the last year, while continuing to build on the success of my first term. From advancing water security efforts and fighting for common-sense rural health care reforms to securing funding for public safety and delivering results for veterans, this past year marked a record of measurable progress.

Fighting for Rural Health Care.

Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District is home to many rural communities. For families in these areas, rural hospitals and clinics are lifelines, providing essential, close-to-home care that many cannot access anywhere else.

Recently, I wrote an op-ed that ran locally in the Eastern Arizona Courier, Pinal Central, and the Sierra Vista Herald, and nationally in The Washington Times, outlining the challenges that our rural veterans in Arizona face when trying to access the care and benefits that they earned through their service.

I also highlighted in my Op-Ed my bill H.R. 3951, the Rural Veterans’ Improved Access to Benefits Act of 2025, which passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support in September. This bill expands access to timely, high-quality disability exams for rural veterans by allowing cross-state exams and broadening the pool of eligible health care providers, helping reduce shortages and speed up benefits.

The bottom line is that no veteran should be denied timely, high-quality care simply because of where they live.

Led a Bipartisan Effort to Modernize Sleep Apnea Coverage.

Last week, I led a bipartisan effort urging the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to modernize outdated coverage standards for diagnosing and treating sleep apnea, a serious condition affecting an estimated 30 million Americans.

The current policies in place for sleep apnea at CMS have not kept pace with medical science and are preventing too many patients, especially women and younger individuals, from receiving the timely, accurate care they need.

Updating these standards will help ensure federal coverage reflects modern medicine so patients can access the treatment they need to stay healthy.

Met with the U.S. Space Force to Celebrate their 6th Birthday Military Branch.

It was an honor to meet with servicemembers of the United States Space Force in Washington, D.C., ahead of their 6th birthday on December 20th!

On December 20th, 2019, the U.S. Space Force officially became the sixth branch of the United States Armed Forces and serves within the Department of the Air Force. Thank you to the service members I met with for dropping off celebratory desserts and for the conversation.

Reps. Crane And Ciscomani Lead Bipartisan Effort Targeting Drone Interference In Wildfire Response
AZ Free News
“U.S. Representative Eli Crane (R-AZ02) joined forces with Reps. Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ06), Janelle Bynum (D-OR), and Joe Neguse (D-CO) to introduce the Wildfire Aerial Response Safety Act of 2025, a bipartisan measure aimed at enhancing the safety and effectiveness of aerial wildfire suppression operations. The legislation mandates the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in close consultation with the Secretaries of the Interior and Agriculture, to conduct a comprehensive study on the disruptive effects of unauthorized drone activity over federal lands during active firefighting efforts. The resulting report will equip Congress with critical insights to inform targeted policies that reduce risks and protect vital suppression resources. Key elements of the study include gathering detailed data on the frequency of drone incursions, their direct impacts on firefighting operations, resulting delays in response times, and the additional financial burdens imposed on federal agencies.”

Ciscomani leads 17 lawmakers in seeking details from CMS about sleep apnea
The Ripon Advance
“U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ) led a bipartisan contingent of 17 of his colleagues in requesting that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) provide details about its current coverage determinations related to obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) diagnosis and treatment, and its ongoing process to modernize the criteria.”

Profiles of the American Dream.

For Gregory L. Johnson, the American Dream may have been more of a journey than a destination.

Greg just couldn’t stop doing things – new things, different things, things you wouldn’t expect. Like his decision at age 40 to become a lawyer.

By the time he passed away last year at age 78, Greg had racked up a truly impressive list of accomplishments. He served as a sergeant in the Marines, owned a hotel, earned a master’s degree in business administration, graduated cum laude from law school, taught hospitality management at a college, lived on an apple orchard in Vermont, prosecuted criminals and mediated planning and zoning disputes in Cochise County, volunteered at the Sierra Vista Police Department and got himself elected to the Sierra Vista City Council.

Greg was, in a word, tireless. He was a devoted public servant who selflessly shared his time and many talents with his adopted hometown.

Last month, the Sierra Vista Police Department dedicated its evidence room to Greg. The two-story facility is a fitting tribute to someone whose life is vivid evidence of all that can be achieved when you put your mind to it.
