Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, AZ06! Laura and I wish you and your loved ones a happy, healthy New Year. I am excited for what’s to come in 2026 and the ways that my office and I will serve you and your families.

As we begin this new year, Laura and I are especially grateful for the first responders, military personnel, and their families who serve our communities every day and keep Arizona families safe. There is a lot of work ahead of us this year and we are hitting the ground running this month! Let’s get to work!

2025 Recap.

In my last newsletter, I shared with you all an end-of-year video that highlighted what we accomplished in 2025. Last year, my office worked directly with agencies such as the IRS, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Social Security Administration to return a total of $16 million to constituents since taking office—nearly $4 million directly benefiting veterans—while my team closed 985 constituent cases.

Along with millions returned to constituents, I introduced 24 bills and cosponsored 246. I took part in 334 votes on the House floor, while I attended and hosted over 230 events and over 290 meetings. All of that did not come without a large amount of travelling, with my having taken 62 flights back and forth between Arizona and D.C.

Overall, 2025 was a successful and encouraging year in which my team and I were able to fight for AZ06. Looking back on 2025 makes me that much more excited and hopeful for the year ahead!

Protecting Arizona’s Livestock.

The livestock industry here in Arizona is essential to our economy, which is why I am committed to supporting this industry’s health and growth. Recently, I, along with Representatives Paul Gosar, David Schweikert, Andy Biggs, and Eli Crane, wrote a letter urging the U.S. Department of Agriculture to reestablish a sterile fly production facility in Douglas, Arizona, to defend against the reemergence of the New World Screwworm, a serious threat to livestock and Arizona’s agricultural economy. Rehabilitating this facility will greatly aid in protecting Arizona’s livestock in the face of this health threat.

Proud to Ride with Cochise County Veterans.

On December 27, Laura and I had the honor and privilege of joining the VeloVets again for a ride in Benson in honor of the late Stu Carter. I am proud to have been able to take part in this special ride. Thank you, VeloVets for having me!

Stu Carter, the founder of VeloVets and pillar of the Sierra Vista community, passed away unexpectedly this past November. The group carries on Stu’s legacy by continuing to provide our veterans with a community of care and encouragement. VeloVets gives veterans a place to connect and allows our disabled veterans a way to regain their mobility through cycling. I am proud of the work Stu Carter began, and which his friends now continue.

Decisive Action Against Maduro.

Early Saturday, American service members carried out a decisive operation aimed at disrupting a narco-terror regime responsible for years of harm to the United States. Nicolás Maduro and the criminal network he leads have supported governments and terror groups in Venezuela and worldwide that are openly hostile to the U.S. and fueled the flow of illegal drugs into the United States, costing countless American lives.

President Trump’s decisive action marks a critical step toward disrupting these deadly trafficking operations and pushing back against a destabilizing regime that has aligned itself with some of our most dangerous adversaries, including Iran, China, Hezbollah, and Hamas. This action sends a clear signal that the United States will not allow narco-terrorism or hostile foreign influence to threaten our security or our hemisphere.

We are deeply grateful to the American heroes who executed this incredibly intricate mission with courage and precision. Decisive action is how we keep America safe.

Honoring Cal Baker – An Education Giant in Southern Arizona.

Cal Baker was a loving husband, father, and a friend to many. For 32 years, he served as the Vail superintendent, pouring into students, staff, and the local community. Cal passed away on December 26, surrounded by his wife, Nancy, and their children. Following his passing, Cal’s family made a loving post in which they said he had such “grit and perseverance.”

In the decades that he served as the Vail superintendent, he oversaw the district’s growth from fewer than 400 students to almost 14,000 by his retirement in 2020. The Calvin Baker Leadership Center now stands as a tribute to his work in the Vail community.

Cal is remembered for his commitment to the work he did, his strength and wisdom, how he loved and cared for his family, and his devotion to the Lord.

Even though he is no longer with us, Cal’s life and what he stood for will continue to impact those who were privileged to know him, and the community he so deeply loved. The spirit of faith and resilience that Cal embodied is too striking to be forgotten.

Laura and I had the honor of knowing Cal and are heartbroken at his passing. He was an educational giant in our community and across our state, and his impact will be felt for generations. We are keeping his wife Nancy, their family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched in our prayers.

We just lost one of the greats. Thank you, Cal for the countless ways you served those around you. Rest in peace my dear friend. You will be greatly missed.

In the News.

Arizona Republicans rally around Venezuela attacks as questions swirl
Arizona Republic
“The action ‘sends a clear signal that the United States will not allow narco-terrorism or hostile foreign influence to threaten our security or our hemisphere,’ said Rep. Juan Ciscomani, who represents southeastern Arizona in Congress.”

LETTER TO THE EDITOR Ciscomani must see his bill for veterans through
Eastern Arizona Courier
“U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani discussed his commitment to Arizona’s rural veterans by submitting bill H.R. 3951. I want to commend Mr. Ciscomani for his efforts. This bill ensures rural veterans receive physical exams and preventive health care. I also want to remind the congressman that this is a bill, not a law. H.R. 3951 still needs the Senate to pass the bill and the president to sign. These are big hurdles to overcome and, as you know, are not always achievable. I do hope you take this to the finish line, but right now the job is not complete.”

Ciscomani Introduces Bill To Strengthen Elite Shadow Wolves Border Unit
AZ Free News
“For decades, the Shadow Wolves have played an essential role in supporting border security and strengthening relationships between DHS and tribal communities,” said Congressman Ciscomani. “Arizona has led the way on this program since the beginning, and this bill helps ensure the Shadow Wolves can continue their mission for years to come.”

Velo Vets ride honors founder Stu Carter, carries legacy forward
Sierra Vista Herald
“U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani, R-Ariz., participated in the memorial ride and spoke about Carter during an interview following the event. ‘Stu was a veteran, obviously, a leader for veterans in this community, but a leader overall in this community,’ Ciscomani said. Ciscomani said he and Carter had frequent conversations about ways to support veterans, and that Velo Vets was one of the most tangible examples of Carter’s approach.”

Profiles of the American Dream.

What a great way to begin the new year!

The University of Arizona men’s basketball team steamrolled into 2026 with a crushing 97-78 victory over Utah on Saturday, racking up its 14th straight win.

“This group is built to be successful,” coach Tommy Lloyd said after the Wildcat’s Big 12 opener against the Utes.

Yes, they certainly are.

The Cats are one of only six teams still undefeated. They are the top-ranked team in the nation and they have held the number one spot in The AP Top 25 for four straight weeks.

This is the stuff dreams are made of. Bear Down!
