February District Work Period.

I spent last week traveling across AZ-06 — meeting with constituents, touring local facilities, providing legislative updates, and discussing the $34.1 million I secured for FY26 community projects throughout our district. These conversations were impactful and encouraging. Listening, learning, and staying connected to the priorities of our district guide the work I do every day in Washington.

Although February was a short month, we accomplished quite a bit over the past few weeks.

  • My colleagues and I in the House passed critical pieces of legislation, including the SAVE America Act (H.R. 7296), which upholds the integrity of the voting process.
  • Two bills I introduced, the Critical Mineral Consistency Act of 2025 (H.R. 755) and the Chiricahua National Park Act (H.R. 6380), passed the House Natural Resources Committee.
  • Another bill of mine, the VETS Opportunity Act (H.R. 1458) passed the House. This legislation will expand GI Bill eligibility to further support our veterans.
  • Lastly, I was joined by a majority of the Arizona Congressional Delegation in sending a letter to the Department of Interior Secretary Doug Burgum in an effort to protect Arizona’s water supply.
  • Back home, my team and I have remained steadfast in assisting constituents with casework, continuing to deliver real dollars and answers from federal agencies.

As I head back to Washington, I am grateful for the time I was able to spend in our district last week. I am proud to have shared with members of the AZ-06 community what I’ve been up to in Congress and look forward to the work I will accomplish in March.

Real Impacts of the DHS Shutdown.

Government shutdowns – whether full or partial – carry real implications for working Americans. I saw firsthand last week one of the ways the DHS shutdown is affecting our local community, as well as our nation, while I toured Sargent Aerospace Controls in Marana.

This local defense manufacturer employs hundreds of AZ-06 residents and has a very important function – producing the necessary parts to build the equipment for the Department of Homeland Security as well as the military. Leaders and staff explained to me that the lapse in DHS funding has drastically slowed their production of parts. This has a direct and very real impact on our national security.

I learned a lot from this group. And as the DHS shutdown enters double digits, I remain committed to getting the government fully funded again so that facilities such as theirs can function at full capacity.

Presidents’ Day in Graham County.

Among my time in the district, I spent Presidents’ Day in Graham County. In the morning, I attended a Gila River Irrigation District meeting in which we discussed the pressing water issues faced by local farmers and rural communities. I greatly value productive conversations such as this one, because they allow me to connect with constituents who know firsthand the impact of specific issues.

At Eastern Arizona College, I announced $4.1 million secured for three critical community projects in Graham and Greenlee counties. Joined by local leaders from Graham County and the Towns of Pima and Duncan, we highlighted how these federal investments will strengthen infrastructure, enhance public safety, and deliver real results for our communities.

I am grateful to have spent time with several recipients of this year’s Community Project Funding form FY26 and look forward to the disbursement of funds so these projects can get up and running!

Also visited Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center in Safford to meet with leadership and frontline staff and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing rural healthcare in Southeastern Arizona. Hearing directly from those delivering care on the ground helps inform my work in Congress to ensure our rural hospitals have the support they need to continue serving our communities

Spent Time in Pinal County.

As part of the District Work Period, I had the opportunity to spend a day in Pinal County last Friday, February 20. I first toured the Frito-Lay facility in Casa Grande. I always enjoy touring facilities in our district because it gives me a unique look into how that business impacts our local economy.

I also had the privilege of holding a press conference at Vista Grande High School on the Pinal County CPFs. Pinal is receiving a total of $4.1 million, allocated to four projects throughout the county. I was joined by local stakeholders from Casa Grande, Eloy, and Oracle in welcoming these funds.

A highlight from this press conference was the ability to connect with the Vista Grande football team, who attended and asked some great questions. These young athletes are among the next generation of leaders, so I find it especially important to encourage them in the goals they have set for themselves.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Vista Grande High School and am grateful for the opportunity to speak with leaders in Pinal County to celebrate these community projects.

I am proud to have secured the $4.1 million for Pinal County and look forward to these communities receiving the funds, so they can move forward and complete these critical projects.

Important Information for Tax Season.

As we are in the midst of tax season, our office wants to give you update you on valuable information that can help in your filing!

Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts, 91% of Americans are finding it easier than ever to file their taxes.

This legislation streamlines tax filing, with the largest tax refunds in history being project for this season and 210 million hours saved in total on tax preparation. These tax cuts will result in a reduction of $13 billion in compliance costs, and an increase of over $10,000 in annual take-home pay for working families.

Under the Working Families Tax Cuts, standard deduction levels have been permanently extended. These new levels are $15,750 for single or married filing separately filers, $31,500 for married couples filing jointly, and $23,625 for head of household filers.

Finally, it is now easier for small businesses and workers to file taxes. The Working Families Tax Cuts remove unnecessary IRS paperwork and simplify reporting requirements, including increasing the income reporting threshold to $2,000 before small businesses must send certain tax forms.

Additionally, we’ve heard from many of you, our constituents, regarding issues obtaining your 1099-R form from the Office of Personnel Management. Annuitants who have an email on file with OPM may have received their 1099-Rs electronically.

To access your 1099-R Form online, please visit: https://www.servicesonline.opm.gov/. A new access tool can help you get your current year 1099-R tax form, no login required.

You may also contact OPM Retirement Services online or call 1-888-767-6738 (TTY: 711).

As always, please contact my office for assistance with a federal agency.

Ciscomani: Bring ‘federal resources back to our communities’
Gila Valley Central
"A visit to Graham County Monday, to take part in the Graham County Republican Committee’s annual Lincoln Day Luncheon, gave U.S. Rep, Juan Ciscomani, R-Ariz., a chance to talk with the leaders of communities impacted by federal funds Ciscomani was able to secure. Following the luncheon, representatives from Duncan, Pima, Pima Unified School District and Graham County joined with Ciscomani for a press conference to talk about the $4.1 million coming to Graham and Greenlee counties. 'One of my goals, as a member of Congress, is to make sure that we bring these federal resources back to our communities,' Ciscomani said. 'This is where those resources come from.' The funding includes $1 million for a road to the new Pima High School, $1.9 million to repair and resurface Main and High streets in Duncan, and $1.2 million for new waterlines at Graham County Fairgrounds."

Ciscomani highlights funding for 3 projects in Graham and Greenlee
Eastern Arizona Courier
"Duncan Mayor Alex Blake was just a kid the last time his town had any significant road improvements. It was 1978, and he remembers seeing the brand-new pavement on the town’s Main and High streets as his grandmother walked him to the doctor’s office. Infrastructure improvements in Duncan have been few and far between since then. 'We feel we've been abandoned by the state and federal government since the '83 flood,' he said, speaking at a Presidents’ Day press conference at Eastern Arizona College... The purpose of the event was to celebrate the $4.1 million in community project funding Ciscomani secured for Graham and Greenlee counties in the 2026 budget cycle—part of an overall $34.1 million in project funding appropriated this year across the district."

Ciscomani spends Presidents’ Day in Graham County, touts major federal infrastructure wins
Gila Herald
"U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani (R-Ariz.) marked Presidents’ Day by returning to his southeastern Arizona district, spending the federal holiday in Graham County to meet with local leaders, farmers, Republican activists, and healthcare providers while highlighting millions of dollars in newly secured federal funding for roads and water systems... During his visits and in statements from his office, Ciscomani spotlighted critical federal dollars included in the House’s Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development appropriations package that will directly benefit Graham County communities."

The winning artwork of our district's competition will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit in Washington will include the winning artwork from all participating districts from around the country. Since day one of being in office, I have been a champion of veterans. In the 119th Congress alone, I have introduced and led four veterans-focused bills that have passed the House. AZ-06 is home to nearly 80,000 veterans, and supporting each and every one is a high priority for me.

As part of my effort to give back to our veterans here in southeastern Arizona, I have hosted three Veteran Servant Leader Award events. These events honor veterans who have continued to serve their communities after their time spent serving our nation. My office and I have been able to award dozens of veterans through these three events, and we are looking forward to our fourth which will be held this April.

If you know an AZ-06 veteran who is dedicated to giving back to their community and embodies the values of duty, service, and commitment that are at the core of our military, we invite you to nominate them for our fourth Veteran Servant Leader Awards! Nominations will be accepted through Friday, April 17.

You can nominate a veteran HERE

AZ-06 Highlights: Did You Know?

This week, I want to highlight the Pima Community College men’s basketball team. They are currently 28-0 this season, after defeating South Mountain Community College in Phoenix last Wednesday. This is an impressive accomplishment!

The team is only 8 wins away from breaking their record of 35 total wins, which they set in the 2024-25 season. Keep up the good work, Aztecs! Here’s to your successful season and to many more wins in the future!

Profiles of the American Dream.

It’s hard to get more red, white and blue than a rodeo. As a celebration of the American West, there’s nothing that captures the frontier spirit and ranching heritage of our country quite like the roping, riding and barrel racing of a rodeo.

So this week we shine our American Dream spotlight on the Tucson Rodeo, which is marking 101 years of old fashion family fun and entertainment in the Old Pueblo. The Fiesta de los Vaqueros is truly a one-of-a-kind event that has stood the test of time.

It’s fun to think that back in 1925, when the Tucson Rodeo was established, Arizona had been a state only 13 years and Tucson had a population of about 25,000. The steer wrestling and bronc riding back then took place at Kramer Field, now the midtown Catalina Vista neighborhood east of Campbell Avenue.

This year’s festivities kicked off last weekend and conclude March 1. For many, the highlight of the week comes at 9am on Thursday, Feb. 26 when the Tucson Rodeo Parade starts rolling through town.

Pulling off a successful rodeo is a monumental task, involving a small army of staff and volunteers. Their dedication and hard work keeps this event – and the American Dream – alive.
