Celebrating 250 Years of Our Nation’s Independence.
This Fourth of July is especially meaningful as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. Across America, communities will gather together to celebrate our great country and what makes it so unique.
Today, a quarter of a century after our founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence, our nation is still going strong.
The American Dream is alive and well. The United States of America is where all people, regardless of where they start, can build the life they want for themselves and family.
As a kid, my family and I immigrated from Mexico because my parents wanted to give my siblings and I more opportunities for a better life. My dad worked as a bus driver and my mom cleaned houses, showing up day after day to provide for us.
Twenty years ago this year, I became an American citizen. I’m incredibly proud to live in this great nation and am beyond grateful to my parents for the sacrifices they made that helped get me where I am today. As the first and only naturalized U.S. citizen from Mexico to be elected to U.S. Congress here in Arizona, I now have the privilege of helping defend our Constitution and honoring the values this country was built on.
As we celebrate this historic milestone, I also hope you'll take a moment to reflect on the blessings of living in the greatest country in the world and the responsibility we all share to preserve it for future generations.
From my family to yours, I wish you a safe, joyful, and blessed Independence Day. Please take a moment to watch my special Fourth of July message below as we celebrate America's 250th birthday.
Happy Independence Day, God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.
