Dear Community Member,
I have been tapped to join the Rapid Response Task Force and Litigation Working Group, a newly formed effort in Congress to push back against the Trump Administration’s overreach and stand up for our Constitution. This task force will play a critical role in tracking legal challenges, coordinating amicus brief opportunities, and providing guidance on how we can fight back against harmful executive actions. As a former prosecutor, I know how to gather evidence, build a case, and hold those who break the law accountable. I look forward to bringing that experience to our work to defend our institutions, democracy, and Constitution.
I recently held two virtual town halls engaging thousands of constituents across California's 19th Congressional District. I brought together legal experts from Attorney General Rob Bonta’s Office and the broader legal community to discuss the litigation work underway to check the Trump Administration. The response was overwhelming and a reflection of the energy in our community.

With over 55 pending lawsuits against harmful executive orders and administrative actions, we are using the levers of power available to us to fight back. Already, courts are stepping in to stop some of the administration’s most dangerous policies. With every executive overreach, we will respond with legal action, and we are already seeing results:

These legal victories are essential, but there is more work ahead. I encourage you to continue to reach out to my office and follow us on social media for the latest on our efforts to check executive overreach. You can also follow the progress on these cases checking the Trump Administration, HERE.
