A MESSAGE FROM CONGRESSWOMAN KAMLAGER-DOVE:
Dear Friend,
This week, House Democrats stepped up once again to save the day and prevent the government from shutting down to ensure American families continue to have access to the critical services they depend on. While we work to fully fund the government through the next year, I will fight to protect health care, education, and nutrition assistance programs that House Republicans are working to cut.
FUNDING THE GOVERNMENT
On Tuesday evening, I voted with House Democrats to keep our government open. While this continuing resolution is in no way a long-term solution, it will ensure that we have the time we need to come together to fund the government at the levels agreed upon earlier this Spring. I was disappointed that this continuing resolution didn't include aid for our allies in Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. It also lacked critical domestic spending that President Biden has called for to invest in our child care, broadband, and disaster relief infrastructure.
I will continue to call on Republicans to come to the table on these issues and invest in these critical programs.

MSNBC INTERVIEWS
This past weekend, I spoke to Symone Sanders on MSNBC's 'Symone' about the House Republicans' plan to fund the government and my concerns about their two-tiered or "laddered" continuing resolution plan to fund the critical programs our American families depend on. I also appeared on MSNBC's 'Way Too Early' with Jonathan Lemire, where I discussed my thoughts on the ongoing crisis in Gaza, and the importance of combating hate in our communities. There has been a rise in antisemitism and Islamophobia in our city, and I am working with my colleagues to ensure the safety of Angelenos and their families.

'YOUR MORNING ON SPECTRUM NEWS 1' INTERVIEW
Lastly, I joined Giselle Fernandez on Spectrum News 1 to discuss the 10 Freeway fire and how it impacts Angelenos and how I'm fighting for CA-37 families in Congress. I understand the impact that the 10's shutdown has on Californians, but fortunately, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which celebrated its second anniversary this week, provides federal funds for projects like these. I will continue to bring home critical funding through my work in Congress.
