As we approach the end of the year, I want to make sure you know about some of my upcoming events. Before the end of the year, I’ll be hosting two events addressing District priorities.
I am excited to host my first-annual Trade Connect event on Friday, December 8 with representatives from the Port of Los Angeles. Trade is an essential part of our regional economy, and this event will help local business leaders understand how they can harness exports to expand their businesses.
Following my trade event, I’ll be hosting a Telephone Town Hall to discuss the housing crisis in Los Angeles and how we can work at the federal and local levels to address this issue. This town hall will take place on Monday, December 11 at 6 p.m. PT. Join this call to learn more about how I am working on solutions to the housing crisis in California's 37th District and across the nation. I hope to have you there!
REGISTER FOR MY UPCOMING TRADE EVENT
My upcoming trade event is on Friday, December 8 at 3 p.m. PT. Representatives from the Port of Los Angeles, the Small Business Administration, the Department of Commerce, and the Export-Import Bank of the United States will answer your questions about exploring exports.
This introductory seminar will provide an overview of exporting basics, with the goal of assisting small and medium-sized businesses with entry into international markets. Representatives from key federal agencies will summarize the main elements of exporting, including finding overseas customers and markets, understanding costs, and connecting your businesses to valuable resources and services. Exports remain a vital part of the Los Angeles regional economy, with nearly $29 billion in exports passing through the Port of Los Angeles every year.
If you are looking to take your business to the next level or are just intrigued about the resources exporting might require, I invite you to attend with questions prepared and an open mind!

JOIN MY HOUSING TELEPHONE TOWN HALL
Please join me for my upcoming Housing Telephone Town Hall on Monday, December 11 at 6 p.m. PT. I have heard your concerns about the high cost of housing across California’s 37th District. As a Los Angeles resident and member of the Congressional Renters Caucus, I understand your frustrations firsthand and am working with my colleagues to lower sky-high housing costs.
During this call, I’ll discuss programs working to increase accessibility to affordable housing across Los Angeles and how we can work together across local, state, and federal levels to ensure our friends and neighbors are housed. This is a great opportunity to not only learn more about critical housing programs but also my work in Congress – all from the comfort of your own home. I hope to have you on the line!

ENROLL IN HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR 2024
Californians have until January 31, 2024 to enroll in health insurance through Covered California to ensure coverage for 2024. Find the plan that is right for you and your family by exploring the low-cost options available. Plans through Covered California will allow you to access preventative care from maternal practitioners to mental health services.
