A MESSAGE FROM CONGRESSWOMAN KAMLAGER-DOVE:
Dear Friend,
As we wrap up a busy first session of the 118th Congress, I was happy to finish the year off strong. This past week, I hosted a telephone town hall focused on addressing the housing crisis and discussed all that I have accomplished this term. I am proud of the progress I have made and the work that I’ve done to deliver for CA-37 families. I look forward to continuing to serve you in 2024 as I represent you faithfully in Congress.
THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING MY TELEPHONE TOWN HALL
Thank you to the over 6,800 Angelenos who tuned in to my Housing Telephone Town Hall on Monday. It was great to hear directly from you and answer your questions on how I am working to address the housing and homelessness crisis through my work in Congress. Special shoutout to my guests: Mayor Karen Bass, HACLA President and CEO Doug Guthrie, and LACDA Executive Director Emilio Salas. Stay tuned for upcoming events in the new year. One thing is for sure, we need the federal, local, and state partners to confront the housing epidemic.
END OF FIRST YEAR IN CONGRESS INTERVIEW WITH SPECTRUM NEWS SOCAL
On Wednesday, I sat down with Spectrum News 1 SoCal's Cassie Semyon to discuss my first year in Congress. This year has certainly been interesting — with 15 rounds of voting for Speaker, two near government shutdowns, and one almost disastrous default on our debt. I have stood firm in my commitment to California's 37th District, and I have been proud to introduce 19 pieces of legislation and cosponsor over 300 more. During my interview, I reflected on the role that my membership on the Foreign Affairs Committee has played as we navigate sending aid to our allies in Ukraine, and I remain hopeful about the work I will accomplish with House Democrats when we come back in the new year to address child care funding, education, and other top priorities for American families.
