Rep. Kamlager-Dove Votes Against the Republican Rip-Off Budget

A MESSAGE FROM CONGRESSWOMAN KAMLAGER-DOVE:

Dear Friend,

The past two days, the phones in my office have been ringing off the hook with calls from constituents who are scared about how House Republicans' budget bill would impact the vital programs they rely on.

Let me be clear: I voted hell no on the Republican Rip-Off because I refuse to be complicit in Donald Trump and House Republicans' attempts to steal from my constituents.

I voted hell no on raising health care premiums by $2,020 a year; hell no on ripping food assistance away from 40 million Americans; and hell no on giving $4.5 trillion in tax cuts to the Billionaire Boys Club.

At a time when federal workers are being fired left and right, eggs are $15 at the store, and planes are literally falling from the sky, it is unconscionable that Trump, Elon, and Republicans are trying to make life even harder for working families.

I know tonight’s House passage of this budget is devastating to thousands of families in our district and to millions more across the country. But this isn’t the end—the House and Senate must agree on a final budget resolution. Rest assured, I won’t stop fighting for you or for the programs that keep us healthy.

To learn more about my no vote, you can watch my explanation video on Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, Twitter/X, Threads, and YouTube. If you want to stay updated on my work in Congress, please be sure to follow me on social media.

As always, I encourage you to contact my offices with any comments or concerns about my work in Congress, the 37th District, or any other matters. If you are experiencing issues with Social Security, passports, immigration, or another federal agency, please send in a casework request, and my staff will happily assist you.

Sincerely,
