Staying Safe and Recovering Together

A MESSAGE FROM CONGRESSWOMAN KAMLAGER-DOVE:

Dear Friend,

This week was challenging for many in our community. The storms that we saw prompted many businesses to close and students to stay home from school—some of our neighbors even had to evacuate. Heavy rainfall and winds have resulted in mudslides, flooding, and power outages. Tragically, we lost nine people because of weather-related incidents.

As we navigate the aftermath of these storms, we must recover together—as President Biden often says, as Americans and Angelenos, “there’s nothing we can’t do when we do it together.” My office and I are a resource for you alongside local, state, and other federal officials, and my top priority right now is helping resolve issues caused by this storm.  I thank the excellent work of Mayor Karen Bass during this state of emergency. Her office has been able to mobilize first responders and act swiftly to help those in need. I will continue to closely monitor what can be done at the federal level to ensure an efficient recovery following this storm. For now, please see important links to resources that may benefit you and your family.
