Last week, I was proud to help pass legislation to protect marriage equality for LGBTQ+ and interracial couples—and send it to President Biden for his signature.

One of the government’s most important responsibilities is to defend the rights of all Americans. That includes an American’s right to marry the person they love.

The Respect for Marriage Act finally repeals the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act and ensures all marriages will be respected and recognized under federal law.

Today and always, I am proud to stand with the LGBTQ+ community and send the message that in America, love always wins.
